o yes ... all those other products? re-inventions of the wheel, rechewed gum. dunno ;-)

you have a bad, bad memory

1st ever mod
1st lpc hack
1st rc4 1.1 key discovery
1st on the fly bios editing
1st complete dissasembly and recode into source of Xcalibur
1st release of software based dvd player (dvdx)
most of the bios hacks

only design we have ever "copied" was anything to do with no solder - and we made that better - so im not sure what your point is ?

yeah i could go on - your posts are pointless and unconstructive and ill informed

Hey!
for all the guys who are making this thread a flame war:
please stop it. It is direspectful to team Xecuter's work. Dont like it? too bad it is going to happen anyways.
Also rasstar if you think that this is a xbox pirate only site and it bothers you so much, why do you post here?
Don't get me wrong i dont plan or intend to get you mad, but if the hack and the people here bother you why make yourself miserable and other people on these forums?

Anyways,
Team Xecuter you rock!
I am a proud owner of one of your modchip products on one of my xbox's and i could not be happier biggrin.gif
Nice work on your progress for the 360 hack and keep rocking baby!
Do not let people's criticism stop you guys on anything you guys want to accomplish, as that is always going to exist.

Forgive me if its being answered elsewhere, but if a hacked firmware is released and you can play your backups etc, is it not possible to reflash the drive with the original firmware and play on live like normal with your original games etc? I know its a lot of hassle but just wanted to know if it would be possible or if something would stop you from doing this.

Yeah, I got the Samsung. I hope all of this isn't ONLY for the Hitachi. I mean at first, probably, but hopefully they get the Sammy working too   biggrin.gif

And OF COURSE they will release the firmware... I am sure it will be released right when they release the tools. You need both anyway, so why release the firmware now, only a tiny % would be able to use it anyway. I see nothing wrong with them making some $ off of these tools at all. These tools will make this hack easy enough for people who don't have $1K's worth of electronics tools -- so well worth it if you ask me.

Thanks X-Ecuter, looking forward to seeing more about the new products. Can't wait until the "firmware" announcement too beerchug.gif

It sounded like they are working on an add-on board (modchip) that will store the hacked firmware, and you will be able to disable it with an external switch (like the X2, X3 modchips) to revert back to the original firmware on the drive controller board.

EDIT: The other thing could be splitting the firmware chip itself. I don't know how large (kb) it is, or the firmware. Remember splitting your TSOP on the Xbox? Other than that, it would have to require an add-on chip.

Althought it would be nice, I am doubting that. There is more involved in region protecting discs than just running a firmware check from what I understand...

You cannot bypass region coding by hacking the 360's firmware.  The region coding is part of the core security system and that is not even close to being challenged.
