thats what i feared/thought. So replacing the Hard Drive wont do anything.

Would anyone know if DVD RAM Disc work in the 360 dvd rom drive
the old xbox will work (backups)with them if you hookup a newer
lg drive or burner (gdr8164b)(4167b) you may be able to change
the write bits on the dvd ram disc to send the right M$ header signeture.

im sorry, are you telling us your xbox 1 will plays backups if you hookup a gdr8164b LG Drive?
