How to make a WMVHD disc to play in your XBOX 360.  Special thanks to XBoxgeek!

Step 1:   Get the Kiosk disc in the usual places (don't even ask)
Step 2:   Extract the iso using Qwix
Step 3:   Delete all of the files and directories that have been extracted except:

   Demos
   en-en (or whatever language you want to keep)
   images
   items
   videos
   default.xex
   kioskmain.xzp
   xenonclatin.xtt
   xenonjklatin.xtt

You may be able to delete more of these...I have not experimeneted yet.

Step 4:   For space, delete all of the contents in the Demo folder and the videos folder.
Step 5:   Add whatever wmvhd video file you would like to the video folder
Step 6:   Open up the gamedb.ini file located in the en-en folder with notepad and delete all data after the example so that you will left with:

;
;
; ConsoleTypeFlags possible values:
; 0=Xbox 360
; 1=Xbox 1
; 2=Xbox 1 and 360 (though backward compatibility)
;
;

;example
;[Game]
;Title=game name "temp"
;Developer=developer
;Publisher=publisher
;ConsoleTypeFlags=0,1,2
;GenreIndex=0,1,2,3,4
;Description=description of game goes here
;FullDescriptionFile=Kameo.txt
;IconPath=game:\images\gtn-temp.png
;ImagePath=game:\images\mta-gm-temp.png
;BannerPath=game:\images\ban-gm-temp.png
;DemoPath=game:\demos\temp\default.exe
;VideoPath=game:\videos\temp.wmv
;RelatedTitle=Jade Empire
;RelatedTitleText=See Also: Jade Empire
;RelatedHardware=Wireless Controller
;RelatedHardwareText=See Also: Wireless Controller
;RatingIcon=app:\rating
;RatingText=Blood, Violence

Note:  You may be able to delete all of the contents, I havent tried it yet and I like the example when I am working with it.

Step 7:   Make your own values that will link to your video.  It will look something like this (thanks XBoxgeek):

[Game]
Title=To the Limit
Developer=WMV-HD (720p)
Publisher=IMAX
ConsoleTypeFlags=0
GenreIndex=1
Description=Three athletes demonstrate the marvelous workings of the human body in this revolutionary film for IMAX, the first of its kind to use inner body (endoscopic) photography.
FullDescriptionFile=wmvhd.txt
IconPath=game:\images\wmvhd-to_the_limit-icon.png
ImagePath=game:\images\wmvhd-to_the_limit-image.png
BannerPath=game:\images\wmvhd_banner.png
VideoPath=game:\videos\To_The_Limit_720.wmv
RatingIcon=app:\ESRB_E.png
RatingText=

As you can see, the most important thing you will need to do is add your file name to the "VideoPath=game:\videos\"
You can also make fancy image and icon files from stills of the video or other images that you may have.  The file sizes are as follows:  Icon 64x64   Image  352x198   banner  640 x 110.  Load your images into the "Images folder" and link to them in the as shown above.

Step 8: You can either create a new image with qwix and burn with nero or drop and drag into a new nero udf compilation and burn.  Make sure you use a DVDr...a CD-R cannot play a wmvhd file.

Step 9:   Insert the disc into your 360, go to the game section, select your movie and play away!

I am sure there are many more ways to do this...and many more ways will be found.  If someone wants to show how to change the tabs and autostart please post .

Once again, thanks XBoxgeek and the rest of the forum members.

Has anyone tried a .ts from this disk?  In another thread it has been confirmed that you can stream a .ts through MCE, but I would prefer to play them from a DL DVD+R than wasting a bunch of space on my hard drive...

I tried doing this and when I insert the disc into Xbox 360 it just says Mixed MEdia Disc and my video does not show up in the Games section. i used nero to burn as a UDF comp. Any suggestions? Thanks.

It does not sound like you left the gamedb.ini file in the language folder....or maybe you need to match the language folder to the language settings of your 360.

also check and see if you did not forget to leave the following files:

 default.xex
kioskmain.xzp
xenonclatin.xtt
xenonjklatin.xtt

The gamedb.ini is in the language file. I am using en-en for English, I'm in the US. Also, in the language file there is the kiosk.ini and hwdb.ini. I opened up the gamedb.ini and the following is in it:

;
;
;ConsoleTypeFlags possible values:
;0=Xbox 360
;1=Xbox 1
;2=Xbox 1 and 360 (though backward compatibility)
;
;

;example

;Publisher=publisher
;ConsoleTypeFlags=0,1,2
;GenreIndex=0,1,2,3,4
;Description=description of game goes here
;FullDescriptionFile=Kameo.txt
;IconPath=game:\images\gtn-temp.png
;ImagePath=game:\images\mta-gm-temp.png
;BannerPath=game:\images\ban-gm-temp.png
;DemoPath=game:\demos\temp\default.exe
;VideoPath=game:\videos\temp.wmv

The main thing I edited was the video path, the name of my video is bigo. So in the Videos folder, I have the video bigo.

So all together, I have the following folders and files:
demos
videos
items
images
en-en
default.xex
kioskmain.xzp
xenonclatin.xtt
xenonjklatin.xtt

So, I drag all these files into a Nero UDF compilation and burn to DVDr. I put burnt disc into 360 and now what I get is instead of mixed media disc message at bottom of the games blade, it now says Play Game. When I click on it, screen turns dark but then it goes back to dashboard. i am using a rewritable disk so I can test if it works. any suggestions. Thanks Poomobile for the response, hope with this info you can point something I'm doing wrong.

Ok:

Try a few things here...try renaming your bigo video file to pgr3.wmv and use the attached in your gamedb.ini file:

[Game]
Title=Project Gotham Racing 3
Developer=Bizarre
Publisher=MS Game Studios
ConsoleTypeFlags=0
GenreIndex=3
Description=Project Gotham Racing 3 expands on features racing gamers have grown to love. A truly next generation game both online and off, it is the ultimate combination of breathtaking speed and dynamic style.
FullDescriptionFile=pgr3.txt
IconPath=game:\images\gtn-pgr3.png
ImagePath=game:\images\mta-gm-pgr3.png
BannerPath=game:\images\ban-gm-pgr3.png
VideoPath=game:\videos\pgr3.wmv
RatingIcon=app:\ESRB_E.png

Leave all the data from the orignal image directory.  Also, when you burn your disc, make sure you finalize the disc (no further writing possible)

If this still does not work, your wmv file is probably not compatible with the 360.  Use videora to convert or try using a demo 720p video from wmvhd.com.

Hope this helps...you can fool around from there if it works.

Here is an example of a gamedb.ini file from a pron site I made for a friend smile.gif

[Game]
Title=Candi and Renee
Developer=Poomobile (720p)
Publisher=Poomobile Productions
ConsoleTypeFlags=0
GenreIndex=1
Description=More HD porn from Snatches.com!
FullDescriptionFile=snatches11.txt
IconPath=game:\images\candiicon.PNG
ImagePath=game:\images\candiimage.png
BannerPath=game:\images\candibanner.png
VideoPath=game:\videos\Snatches-candirenee-UltraHD.wmv

Thanks! It worked! question though, what is the biggest size the file can be? Can you have lets say 2 files that are each like 2 gigs? Also, can the file have an .avi extension but still have been encoded with WM9, via videodub. Thanks.

It does not work. Something about region code and ask to clean the disk. The original Pi-Odd ISO disc works but not the disc that I burned with UDF complilation. Is there anything that I missed?

uhm

with the fall update it gives you the ability to play wmv-hd anyway

just burn the files to disk, single layer are ok depending on the size of the wmv-hd file

the 360 will recognise it as a mixed media disk

just it you scroll along to the media blade, select video, then select current disk and it will display
the wmv-hd

then just select play and job done

not sure what all this kiosk disk business is, does it play on early not updated consoles or something?
