I figure they CAN'T ban you.  The disk has no media flag, so they don't know if you have a modded box, it's burnt on a piece of toast, or if you are running the kosher pressed disk, which IS legal AFAIK.  How would they know which?

if MS starts to care about this , you might end up seeing fired MS xbox reps that control most of the kiosks . Then again the kiosk at one of my local stores isn't run by a rep , it's just one of the kiosks that were bought for display at the store, so those aren't controlled or properly watched by anyone with high intelliegence of anyone wanting to copy the discs as I know when i worked at the store i'd get every new game that came out and so did another employee friend of mine.

I was able to find a video where this person has a Ridata DVD-R disc...written on it....Xbox360 Kiosk demo....and you see him choose COD2 as the game is  loading he zooms in to show that its a pre-release demo of the game.... not sure if I should post a link to it...as I don't want to get banned ph34r.gif

well this might be a dumb Idea. But we know that the dvd-rom flag is not set so this is why it all works.
but the demos are signed. So like intead of trying all these reverse enginer Ideas and trying to make a image of a full game work. why not just try to find the signuture on the game file and sign that to like a peice of homebrew software. or would that be too hard? I just would think that would make it easyer. I'm also wondering if they are checking hash values of the software to make sure that this demo is the demo it should be. I think thats why you can;t make a full game out of a demo disc. Most likely at least. and I do know MS likes to play with Hash Values as far as security. in my AD network they talk alot about doing that with the GP and stuff. so This will be intresting if ya all find a way to make this work

to sign you need the key you can not just cut out the sign then enter it for something else. Been discussed before with the first xbox. But keep brainstorming ideas are always welcome.

OK so the only way this is usefull is if someone can create a buffer overrun error (or something simular) with some of the datafiles on the disc and inject new code?

but you would still needed a signed xex file correct?  The xex files on the disc are signed just do not have a media flag.

So the only way this is usefull is if someone can write a signed homebew app?  and if they could do that they would not need the demo disc in the 1st place

I never used any of the soft mod for the xbox1, but once you create the buffer overrun error could you run unsigned code?

Banned?  Are you freakin kidding me?!?!?  We can't even speak of itt?!?!?!?!?  What is it....the holy words that will summon all evil onto the Earth?!?!?!?  The site says discuss it in the forums....now we cant?!?!?!?!?!
This is total crap, total crap.

If you don't like it then leave.  There's an obvious reason why piracy is frowned upon here... I just don't think you grasp that.

Quick question. if you want to replace a trailer with something else, does it have to be a WMV-HD?

or can it be any old AVI, MPEG file?

Id Try, but I dont have a 360, not Can I find the ISO ANYWHERE!

It has to be WMV-HD. I tried a .TS HD video and it wouldn't play and of course DIVX won't play either.

Dont think M$ is this dumb but what if you replace a demo with a full game and when burning the disc set the Booktype to DVD-ROM I would try but I dont have any dvd+r's

That really wouldn't be different than just burning the game with the booktype set to DVD-ROM, would it?

Good news today though, something interesting to read before bed beerchug.gif

I was reading this whole topic and was just wondering two things. I read that you can replace the movies with wmv-hd files but has anyone tried a regular wmv file? I have read that you cant swap the demos for demos from other discs but can you swap a demo on this disc for a demo on this disc (ie: make COD2 run from the place Kameo should be in). Just wondering?

Since the xbox live arcade games are flash, has anyone thought of downloading the live arcade games and then hooking the 360 hard drive to a pc using the stuff made available to read the hard drive and then see if the data can be obtained? Just an idea . . . so we can compare the xex files to what we have now.
