I think I read somewhere that you have to create a path as to where Surreal 64 checks for ROMs.

I have the same problem as you do since I didn't install the emulator, and I'm not sure how to find out where it checks for ROMs.  There is no ROM folder and copying the ROM to several places within the Surreal folder hasn't worked :(

I'm pretty sure there is an .ini file for each of the emulators you have to edit to show the destination folder of your roms.  Also make sure to hit the refresh button in surreal so it 'sees' the roms.

if its the path, then please whoever reads this copy/paste the right path as to having roms on the surreal64 folder cuse ive tried everything and nothing seems to help. i have an enigmah chip which was like one of the first out but i still have managed to do pretty much everything anyone else has so i think the problem isnt leading that way.

whenever i refresh rom list with the a button the "refreshing rom list" reading goes away immediately... something much be wrong... if i leave it pressed it blinks themessage, i still cant see any games or boxart. i installed project 64 to see if i could run n64 emus another way but like for mario which was the one i had on the folder, when selected the screen went black... i have no idea what im doing wrong... it must be something common to both apps.

regards and please help us.... heheh
later and thanx for replying

I'm also having the same EXACT problem.  i edited the surreal.ini and ulrahle.ini to read F:/Apps/Emulators/Surreal 64/Roms/

That is the exact directory of all my roms.  and still nothin comes up.

Wrong slashes buddy... F:\Apps\Emulators\Surreal 64\Roms\.

also try editing the other .ini files if they have a location for Roms.

QUOTE
First and formost, have you edited the Surreal.ini *before* you run it to point to your roms?

You need to change it to be Rom Path=F:\Path\to\your\roms . If you are putting the roms in the 'roms' folder inside your surreal64 install dir, then make the Rom Path=D:\Roms

If you have already ran Surreal64, then your ini was saved to the TDATA folder, and you have to edit it there.

/E/TDATA/a64fea57/Surreal.ini <-- That is the path to it. Simply edit that file right there to reflect the directory of your roms, and then launch the emu and hit the 'refresh' button in the lower right hand corner.

hope that helps

Exactly the same here bud. I have the roms (but with no image despite having the jpeg  ), I click on them to load and they do! But with no image. I can hear the action, I'm that close to playing Starfox 64 but no such luck. Could this be a rom setting or am I a mong and done something stupid?

I mean. someone has to have had this problem before and solved it.
for those who only read the las post... this is it, the "situation"

rom list is ok
boxart can be seen
rom loading. ( example mario kart: 25 - 50 - 75 and goes black )

and for whoever cant see the boxart and cant see the roms, get the romlist path right, but before that; delete file form ms dash ( as where game saves are ) and be sure the path is right. in my case:

Rom Path=E:\apps\Surreal64\Roms\
Media Path=E:\apps\Surreal64\Media\

k guys...
hope this helps and hope someone posts soon for my problem...
