As Cory explained to me, the old kxam.patch (ping patch) is programmed for 9199, and not the new dash. So you have two choices:

1. Delete kxam.patch and add this to the bottom of your launch.ini

[Settings]
pingpatch = true

2. open kxam.patch and replace 81 98 31 A8 with 81 91 D3 3C

*If you do number 1 without deleting kxam.patch, it will patch a random address, so be sure to delete it.

Checked it out and I do not have kxam.patch on hdd1 and I do have pingpatch = true. But it still does not work.

did you even replace the smc.bin with your own thats been modded for alternative points?

EasyFreeBoot has an option for AUD-CLAMP so I thought I'd be safe. I knew I should have just built my own image. Really pisses me off that I have to rip it apart and resolder shit. Idk why I can't boot back to xellous? I thought was supposed to be the backup to a bad flash.

this has the mem patch with it that's what dash launch is for to give back you xbox 1 compatibility and i will not recommend using old patches versions change addresses change etc so you could brick the image by using old patches

build it as normal how it says and install dash launch 2.05 you don't have to have anything set to boot this will add patches ie ping limit remove and with auto reboot on fatal errors so box should reboot and not just freeze smile.gif this also detects if you boot an xbox 1 game and protects the mem so it can boot as normal

and old ping patch that you put on root of drive must be removed before installing dash launch or 30s ping will not get removed lol

Thanks for the info. I downloaded dashlaunch 2.05 and it does indeed say that in the instructions. I am going to wait until I get Kinect before updating and LT+. I don't want boot problems caused by the AP 2.5 games that are coming out now and I read that C4EVA is releasing it before Christmas. C4EVA is Awesome! Every time M$ tries a new form of protection, he bypasses it quickly!

just rebuild and flash on ltp save having to pull wires apart may take longer to do but its better than messing anything else up you can ltp it without pulling the board out just a thought smile.gif

Anyone here who got it to work with TMS=AUD_CLAMP and TDI=TRAY_OPEN?

I think Idon't know how to handle this atm. Maybe it's too simple for me.

I used this bestpig toolbox with my current freeboot 9199 nand. I did not change any data, just pointed to the nand file and the program created a new nand. When I put this on the console will it work or will I get a black screen? PRoblem is that my cable from the nandx is missing and i cannot flash this thing that's why I ask before I flash.

I've tried building with Fbbuild and the bestpig toolbox, and after flashing with Flash360 I end up with an unbootable box.

I've got a few bad blocks which might be the problem but Flash360 has always successfully remapped them for me before, so I'm not sure what the problem is. I've got a Jasper512 by the way.

Create a custom freeboot.
get the smc.bin form the data folder and patch it to match your wiring with smc_io by blackaddr.
let piggy finish and your all done.
keep your smc.bin file somewhere safe and in the future you can just replace the smc.bin file rather then making a new one everytime. For that matter if you already have a smc.bin that is patched you can just drag it in.

I would like to ask bestpig to add a check box for aud_clamp wiring. Almost everyone uses this now. It would make things alot simpler.

What jtag wiring method did you use? Do you get a specific error code?

Problem is that the blackaddr tool just patches the aud_clamp an option for the tray_open is nowhere to be seen.

RTFM

Did you read the instructions that came with the program?
By default the program does just aud_clamp but with additional parameters you can patch any wiring you like.

Lets have you start off by getting the new version of smc_io released yesterday. It is on the front page here at x-scene.

When using bestpigs tool make sure have selected make a custom freeboot.
You will find smc.bin in the data folder.

Move it into the \smc_util_v1.0a\smc_util\ folder

Then run smc_util in "io" and "interactive mode". See my example below.

Once it is done copy your smcnew.bin file into the data folder. Rename it to smc.bin and close the data folder. Let bestpig tool finish and you should be good to go.
CODE
C:\smc_util_v1.0a\smc_util>smc_util io smc.bin smcnew.bin /i

*** Xbox 360 SMC Utility ***
*** Version 1.0 by Blackaddr  ***

*** Xbox 360 SMC I/O Config Utility ***
*** Version 0.3a by Blackaddr  ***
INTERACTIVE MODE

1 - ARGON_DATA (Ring of light board)
2 - DB1F1 or alternate
3 - AUD_CLAMP (Q2N1)
4 - TRAY_OPEN (DVD power cable or connector)

Which I/O for TMS? [1-4]: 3

Found the 3/4 TDI code at 0x2E60 ...patched TDI output.
Found the 4/4 TDI code at 0x2DB4 ...patched TDI output.
Found the TCLK delay code at 0x2DFA ...patched TCLK delay.
*** ARGON_DATA not used, attempting to remove ROL lockout code during JTAG ***
Found the ROL disable code at 0x2D9F ...removed ROL disable.
Found the ROL enable code at 0x2DA9 ...removed ROL enable.

The output file smcnew.bin must be re-encrypted before it can be flashed to the NAND.

What motherboard version do you have?
And yeah, the 360 DVD drive question was silly. Nothing to do with your issue at all.
