Hey when i use easy freeboot, i do the steps, find the nand. enter cpu key etc. dos prompt comes up saying press i do that. but i don't see the new nand image anywhere. on one of the previous pages someone said its called freeboot.bin well i don't see that. i only see nand.bin. Thats not the nand i choose to flash.

Thanks for the tutorials here, got everything installed including the dashboard and avatar updates... however it does appear that the downloaded avatar stuff needs to be updated for it to work in new dashboard.

The downloaded avatar items display the name, but the pictures don't appear and they are not selectable..

Other than that everything works great! Now I'm trying to figure out how to install the Dash Launch v2.03 as I never installed the previous ones and I want the ping removal to work.

GOT IT!

I think its dash launch causing to to happen, cause if I hold RB while starting the games it works fine.

I have a falcon that was properly nand dumped from nandpro and extracted with Flash Tool. I use the following command line "fbbuild.exe -c falcon -d mydata cust_freeboot.bin" and keep getting:

**** smc_config.bin is incorrect size! ****
**** did you forget to specify 256/512? ****

Why does it insist my falcon is higher than 16mb? I tried both nandpro config extraction and Flash Tool but none of them work. Any ideas?

Have you got the "extract ibuild compatible files" option selected in Flashtool?

There isn't in option for that in the extract window. To be exact, the program is called 360 Flash Dump Tool 1.1. The thing is, I even dumped from Nandpro using:

nandpro lpt: -r16 config1.bin 3de 2

Of course I renamed to smc_config.bin but I'm still getting the same error.

See I'd love to update but bit worried with all this ap2.5 stuff. I've got no intention of playing fable 3, but am a little worried if more
games start using it and hence it might get a bit risky. Id rather not get an offline ban.

also, i did a friends jtag but bridged the r3t6 resistor. will he be able to update ok? he would have to send it back to me otherwise.

Look in the option menu in Flashtool before you click on the extract button.

Flashtool 0.97 is the latest version - unless a new one has just be released in the past 12 hours.

UTAR that was it. Not sure where I got the 1.1 version from but after I used your link and downloaded that version I was able to select from settings (ibuild compatible files) and extracted an SMC_Config.bin that was 16kb in size apposed to the 32kb. I'm good now and thanks for the help.

Worked for me without checking the iBuild option. Falcon.

hi - i have the r6t3 resister removed, if I upgrade to 12611 & subsequently download the update from MS and install this will I get the E80 error? I am presuming not as there is no mention of it in this topic but thought I would ask...

When i create the flashed image with easy freeboot. It gives me nand.bin i rename that to updflash.bin. flash it using flash360 when i try and install M$ dash update 12611. It says something like system error. contact microsoft support. Can anyone help me thanks.

I'm trying to upgrade my falcon from freeboot 0.32. I can't get it to work, I'm just getting christmas lights

Here's what I did:

- Opened my freeboot dump into easy freeboot (flashdmp.bin)
- Ticked 'Use donor files'
- selected 'falcon' in the list
- easy freeboot created 'updflash.bin', which I then flashed using flash 360.

After then I just get christmas lights on boot. To rule out flash 360 I tried flashing it using my USB SPI flasher, still no joy. When I flash 'flashdmp' back it boots just fine into freeboot 0.32

Can anyone help?

in reply to my earlier question (page 7) thanks AZImmortal i have now extracted the smc.bin of which i have two smc_dec and smc_enc (both 12k in size) as to what to do now i am at a loss lol.if only i knew if jtag was done using aud_clamp_wiring.

Hi, this is my first post.
I got a Jasper256 and XP. So I cannot use Easy Freeboot.

1. When I use 360 Flash Tool I get the 16kb Smc_config.bin.
This one doesn't work with:
fbuild -c jasper256 -d mydata update.bin
It says wrong size smc_config.bin

2. When I use the smc_config.bin from easy freeboot it works and I get the 64MB file out.
I did not try to update this with Flash360. Can I try although it is not my smc_config.bin ?

3. When I use the 16kb smc_config.bin from Flash tools and type:
fbuild -c jasper -d mydata update.bin
it works. But when launching flsh360 fromm xbox it is said that I got the wrong file size.

What shall I do ?
