ok, i thought it was a smb sharing issue....
now its not working when i put it in the folder on my xbox.
it works when i play it on mame32 on windows 2k so i know the rom file is good.

i dont knwo why, but after loading all files, says loading complete, and sits, sits, sits, waited for more than 5 minutes, nothing, no IGR or anything, complete halt.

if anyone knwo why it does this., please let me know.

i have a cfg folder on my pc for the config files, but dont know where to put them in mameox... i tried putting them in all the folders im pretty sure with no luck.

any help is greatly appretiated as alway.

heh, its no secret.... a couple actually, namely shinobi and karnov.
i have made progress though, deleted the cache file in UDATA helped a little, i can now at least play it while its on my xbox.
now im trying to get the SMB share to read the roms again, which is turning out to be a little pain.
for some reason with the older mameox i had, there was no cfg folder, and there is now, im guessing thats what was freezing it.
im going to stick to this until it works, if it takes forever that is.

xport rocks regardless if this works or not... becuase every other xport emulator made is so damn flawless (in my eyes) that its beyond words or comprehension.
and once i get this straightened out, this will work too.

same goes here with Neo Turf masters and Ghostlop for example, I installed this new version overwriting mameox 79 with the new release.

problem solved.

the cfg folder must get written to, therefore cannot be in a shared folder, as SMB cannot write to shared folders from what i read...

so, the rom folder can be shared, just drag all the contents of the cfg folder to the cfg folder on the xbox (for me it was just over 500 files totalling 1.2MB) so its not going to take up too much space...

so i think that does it, i have every emulator working that i want.
and beautifully...

i havent supported xport monetarily, but i will when i get the chance, because without them, there would be no point in having a modded xbox, and thats the truth.

but i will support them by answering any question i can on this forum regarding the various emulators...

ok, if you recently upgraded to the new mameox, you have to delete ALL mame folders....

"E:/TDATA/4d414d45/"
is the cache folder....

and also, the main mameox folder with the emulator files in it.

so after everything is deleted, reinstall.
if you are playing off hard drive, put all roms in the rom folder, and cfg files in the cfg folder...
that should work, if your zipped rom files contain all the sub files needed to boot the game.

well it´s impossible to me to run games as Metal Slug 3 or Ghostlop that work mame32

I have deleted my mameox folder, the E:/TDATA/4d414d45/ folder, and also the Mameox entry in the MS Dash save game manager or whatever it´s called in english----> every mameox related thing should have gone from my xbox true? I think there´s something left somewhere

well now I upload mameox 0.84 again, exec it and it has my options already configured, doesn´t say the New version detected, dumping driver and this things it should do, and it displays my roms (using fbaxx roms folder). And of course, Metal slug 3 or Ghostlop won´t run, but other games using vmm like Metal Slug X work

this is kinda strange    

I´m not complaining, just need helpppppp

deleting the tdata folder should have erased your previous settings... theres a mame.ini file in it that has all the configurations...

ok I had eraser the Udata mameox folder but not the Tdata. Now I erased it too but same result. Re-uploaded roms and checked it with Romcenter, no luck.

ok I'm having the same kinda problems as well digdug and xevious both work on my pc but freeze up mameox after loading is complete.I tried the methods above no luck is this a bug? <_<

i suggest  double check all the faq info, do a search or two on the specific game or problem, or whatever other research, and if nothing works, post a bug on the mame site, or just start a new thread...

mine works great now, and ive given all the info i have on the subject....

ive spent many hours now getting all the emulators set up and running exactly the way i want on my box, and as far as i see... i am pretty much done besides maybe a few more rom sets.

Some games take a while to load. I thought Metal Slug 3 froze at first, but i waited just in case. After a minute or two it loaded.

well last time I waited 9 mins for Metal Slug 3  
I suppose it´s a bug as other small roms like Neo Turf masters that don´t require vm don´t work either.
I hope XPort brings some light
