teminator 2 doesn't use a light gun, the guns in the arcade were actually joysticks (remember operation wolf)

i never knew that  blink.gif

Xport, is there any chance you'd consider swapping the current core's Midway driver for the the far more Xbox friendly v0.72 one in your build?

It'd be nice to have the MK games working again at a decent speed.

i remember reading that someone tried to add and older midway drivers but failed but if xport can add vmm to the current one that shouldn't be a prob

sammaz don't get high hopes for tekken tag, soul caliber, ridge/rave racer,  and any other game that needs a decent cpu to even run those playable cuz xbox is far from it (that may include sf ex's as well) and just to note those aren't working well enough yet in mame as is.

yes he did mention he'll use 79 but hes better off using the latest 84 core as it adds more games on top of the ones added in 79

While he's probably sick of support/feature begging in this topic, PLEASE change the UI to the standard Xport design.

One of my biggests turnoffs for Mameox is the UI, which could be easily replaced with the classic we've come to love from you.

Looking fantastic Xport.

Just a quick suggestion I'd like to see added to Mame-OX.

As there are now over 4096 games emulated in mame, could you please add multiple Rom Directory Support so I can fit em all on my box? And possibly a flyer / marquee viewer too?

I'm REALLY looking forward to your update of this already cool emu.

for your apb problem make sure the roms in the zip are named correclty for that mame (easiest way to find out is using  romcenter and a mame dat for 79)

Juganawt you can add them all as is; just edit the mameox.ini in its save folder

i just blew right past this post at first glance, as i knew it couldn't have anything to do with an actual update, but then i saw the name......that man......."sniff, tear*

i wish i could help with actual info, but i haven't even touched mameox since 76.1. i've got some catching up to do.

and i would also love the gui. i had all these ideas for skins, but no real reason to do them until now.

Hi Everyone,

In an attempt to help contribute a bit to xbox-scene, and assist XPort with this incredible mameox upgrade/modification, I decided to download mame079b.zip and to make a php/mysql based compatibility list particularly for assiting XPort.  Perhaps iif everyone uses this to report their results to XPort, it may be easier for him to use.

It's very simple, as I really don't have much time.  I've got a midterm tomorrow which I haven't even started studying for  sad.gif

My intent was to provide a medium for XPort and xbox-scene to communicate compatability in an easy and cosistent way.

http://www.digitalhosting.ca/mamedb/

Sorry about the uglyness, I coded it as quickly as I could.  I did some quick testing though and it seems more or less solid.  It's based off of the MAMEoX compatability list idea, obviously.

XPort, if you think this is useful, maybe throw the link on your first post so people can see.  If you or others have feature requests, feel free to ask me, maybe I can put them in real quick.

Sorry all but I've really gotta get back to studying for this midterm.  Best of luck, and I really hope this helps, even if only a bit.  Any bugs lemme know.

Cheers,
static-

dead impressed... need one of them for each troublesome emu on xbox (MAME, N64 and PCSXBOX)... nice one with the coding, havent tried it yet tho... i might have to actually stay away from it... stuff like that is too complicated for me

QUOTE (Danjuro @ Jul 20 2004, 03:46 AM)
Really great news XPort !

To answer your inquiry, I have 3 games that were mysteriously not running in MameOX 0.79 while they work on the PC side :
APB (APB.zip) reports missing roms that are nowhere to be found in any set, and the game works fine here.
Tac/Scan (tacscan.zip) sometimes freezes if I remember right. It repeatedly freezes (and locks the Xbox) when trying to save a snapshot anyway.
The infamous Hyper Duel (hyprdelj.zip) freezes (not locking the Xbox though) right when the actual game is about to start, after choosing your character.

Best Regards

APB loads fine for me, make sure you have a current romset.

I couldn't get my Tac/Scan to freeze, but forgot to check if the screenshot made it freeze.  If I'm not mistaken there was a problem with screenies at one time related to the fact that said game was a vector game.  I'll put it on the list, but this is neither a hard lock or an OOM problem.

Hyper Duel (hyprdelj.zip) exhibits similar behavior on MAME32 - this romset will load and start, but after the title screen will cycle back to the RAM/ROM check.  This is a core bug in MAME.  This may be due to the fact that the parent rom (hyprduel.zip) needs redumping, and is marked as non-working.  This again is neither a hard lock or an OOM problem, but I will put it on the list.
