Jtag Will Not Boot With Any Nand But Still Has Power
« on: June 13, 2010, 11:33:00 PM »

Ok here is the 360 im working on jtagging:
Xenon
CB 1920
LPT
I also had to use a USB cable as an external power source for the nand so i can recover flash it.
I tried to flash xell about 3 times, and xbr about once... xell always flashed good but it would never boot so i tried xbr and i got a few errors:
Error: BE37C Programming block 6
Error: FDE2BFBD Programming block 7
Error: DFE0033E Programming block 13
Error: E055FFFB Programming block 1C
Error: 250 Programming block 1D

So i tried to reflash those blocks only by running these commands
nandpro.exe lpt: -w16 xbr.bin 6 2
nandpro.exe lpt: -w16 xbr.bin 13 1
nandpro.exe lpt: -w16 xbr.bin 1C 2
it never booted. was it a bad flash? i was using nandpro 2.0b
i reflashed the original nand dump that i got twice with no errors and it still doesnt boot but it gets power and i can flash it off the xbox power cable and no modded usb cable. Do i have to desolder the usb cable? should i try nandpro 2.0?

Try to resolder or remove the jtag for now(check if nothing is connected wrong)

Also why are you using usb for power, just make a short on the nand if it won't see it.
If everything is okay it should get power form your adapter,if not you made short on the mainboard somewhere.

I have never gotten the short to work and if I accidentally short the wrong pins then it can be dangerous to the nand.
USB is easier and consistent. just take the red 5v wire and the black ground wire and solder it to the zephyr points for the mod. They also work for the xenon.

So something with the lpt soldering is wrong? or jtag points? I will check them again but they all look fine.
EDIT: well i fixed the flashing problem... i had a wire where only half of it was connected and it was probably causing a short with another wire so i desoldered it and twisted it together and tinned it. it works fine erasing all blocks now. im going to remove the jtag wires and try flashing the original nand dump.

all the 280 errors are from using your computer while its dumping or erasing but im having the same problem as you with xell and xbr. xell flash went fine so i plugged it in and it was getting power but it didnt turn on. then i tried xbr and it isnt working sad.gif

ok well my lpt stopped working completely. i resoldered many times and it never worked so i installed the cygnos v2 and the blue led shows up and its giving me error 0x0404 device id when trying to dump the cygnos v2 rev d nand... i cant get it to switch to the onboard nand. i think its dead. if i flip the switch on the cygnos it stays blue in both positions what does that mean?

ok so i desoldered the cygnos because it wasnt working. i couldnt even flash the cygnos v2 flash... i resoldered the lpt real quick just to see any difference. the psu light is still orange and its not recognized in nandpro. i checked my solder points and my wires and they all look correct. what is wrong?

Its nearly impossible to complete kill your nand, but you could be the first one.
Tried an other pc?? Made a new cable, tried it on a other console?

If an other console works fine and this one is still dead its simple, but if both can’t be seen in nandpro it must be your pc. Every time I have errors its or the jtag or the lpt that’s solder just bad, sometimes you won’t see anything but still you could have a cold solder. Or a short on your main board.

I would for now remove the jtag, solder a new lpt cable, solder it in xbox360 and only flash xell and put jtag back, if you get xell to work use flash360 to flash the whole xbr or freeboot whit USB or DVD.
Also don’t forget the keyvault, it should start tough whiteout a key vault. Instead of lpt try USB. Cygnos is the chip I presume not the nandflasher, xcuter have a USB nandflasher for sell if you can’t make one yourself.

Good luck whit it, my last xenon took 2 weeks to work properly.

ok so cat5/db25 not recognized in nandpro (with or without switching diode in j1d2.4...). the reason i dont want to install my infectus is because its like 35 wires or something and this is 7... plus all i need is xell to boot and i can go off a usb flash drive from there. before i go buy some usb spi flasher stuff is there anything i can do to check if the chip is dead.

If you have a good rawkv and rawconfig, then you can build your XBR image, then remap the bad blocks and flash XBR, which I image would work. By any chance did you power on the console when it was connected to LPT? From what I've read this will basically murder your NAND.

No, not that i know of. Even if so, would a new nand fix it? I can do that. It isnt recognized in nandpro anymore. I ve already checked my solder points many times.
