I was getting 1 or 2 bad blocks that had no remapping point, but it turned out in my situation that the nand reads were bad. My good reads that matched eachother never had a bad block that had no remap point.

Have you taken multiple reads of the nand and compared them to make sure they are 100% identical?

Also, what tutorial are you using to do this? I'd recommend this 1 http://forums.xbox-s...howtopic=700442

yeah i was using a tutorial very similar to that one but I also found out from another person that I had to remap the blocks to the location I got from my orignal dump and it said:

error: 250 bad block 96
error: 250 bad block fe
error: 250 bad block 3FE
error: 250 bad block 3FF

I was told that I needed to remap the  badblock 96 to 3FE and badblock fe to 3FF and then it will be fine so all I have left now is to hook her up and see how she runs. With a little luck hopefully all will be well. Thanks for your help.

Just use nandhealer gui and nand remapper, those are the basic two things to fix whatever errors your dump has and flash successfully.

Occasionally you'll get a bad block that cannot be messed with, remap it anyway.

Ok this nand healer looks like a very nice tool but after I made 2 identical dumps I went to fix selected dumps and it errors out reading them and then the program says an unhandled exception has occurred in your application and at the bottom it says could not find c:\nandpro\nand2_00EF.bin and I used badblock remapper and it just says no bad blocks found in the spare area. I did attempt to flash this to the console with this bad block and when I did that there was no video at all. I have a bad block a 96 and FE  but I have no idea how to get them remapped because I have no destination to remap them to.

Alright this is simple if you're getting exception errors that's an issue with your OS as this works fine for me on Windows XP Professional. Make sure you have the latest updates for .NET Frame work 3.5.

Edit: Make sure you're using the latest versions of both software' mentioned.


For educational and developmental purposes only:

1. Dump your box's nand with nandpro
2. Dump it again with nandpro (rename the first one so you know which is which)
3. Get the kv/config using nandpro on your dumped nand.
4. Open up Xnandhealer gui rename both of your boxes dumps to whatever it shows up as on the list.
5. Make sure they match, it will let you know if you renamed them accordingly. (Might have to restart program)
6. IF they match, then have Xnandhealer gui fix the first one (the one you will use).
7. Once fixed, use BadBlock Remapper to load your 'fixed' nand dump, then once loaded for the zero config file (other nand file) load your custom nand (xbr,freeboot, etc) and it should remap all bad blocks from your dumped nand to this new custom nand.
8. Make sure you injected your kv/config to the custom nand too.

Then you should have a working custom nand and should boot fine.

Let me know how it works for you.
