Is this possible?

Whenever I try to customise mine it says a system update is required.

I have read that you need to install the official 8955 to get the avatar's and other features to work.

Someone who has actually done this can confirm this.

As for me, I don't mind the silhouette of a lady.

yup download the 8955 update stick in on a usb pen put it in the xbox and fire it up when asked if you want to update say yes, it will then install avatar support...

omfg rofl shiloutte of a lady...too funny but yeah completely safe to install that update after jtag aaaand then you can start giving your avatar cool props like mine is in a werewolf costume holding a mickey mouse doll...pure vanity of course but necessary if you want to play xbla titles like lucidity or toy soldiers cause they include avatar awards and will not start if you lack avatar update...

Updating to the real 8955 would disable your JTAG hack, and you would never be able to use it again. If you already have the hacked 8955, then putting the update on a USB stick will only install the avatar update.

i got downloaded avatar accessories but problem is when i fit them to my av it does not show.

Are you running 8955? If so I had the same issue. I downloaded the legit 8955 update and run it over my Cyngos chip and it was fine doesnt blow any fuses and still full jtag functionility. Avatars working fine as well.

I can alos confirm it works. I installed 8955 after JTAGing and i have the avatars now, so yeah for me

basically ur problem is that since you never went online with your jtag profile you lack an xuid# this number must be presesnt for those props to show...if you have access to live open ur profile in le fluffie.... this will show you the xuid# of the live profile...then hex edit your jtag profile to insert this # then hex edit the prop file with this#
