Making Game Boot Disks?
« on: January 25, 2010, 02:12:00 PM »

Im not sure if this has been said or someone tried it already but i was thinking about someting.

you can copy games to the 360 hdd in the dash but you still need the disk to boot that game up.

my question/idea is this:
is there a way to make a "game boot disk" with like a normal dvd-r or even a cd-r that will start a game saved to the 360 hdd?
or can you simply bypass needing a disk all together?

I already know all about flashing the dvd drive and all that (running ixtreme on a TS drive)
I basically dont like paying for DVD-R DL's for my backups

If its been done i guess point me in the right direction
if not its a good time to look into it

This has been asked a number of times and the answer is and will remain that it is not possible.

There is no easiest way.
Search is your friend but I suspect that your console is updated already which means your not going to be able to JTAG it anyway.

Summer 09 is the homebrew killer update.

If you have an 8XXX dash yours out of luck.
Also your system has to not have been repaired before and also made before a certain date which I cant remember right now.

That would be correct and that shows you have updated the console and blocked the exploit.

So back to my first answer, no its not possible.

Yet you gave your first answer w/o having the full gammet of information to make an intelligent answer.
You got lucky.

<snip>

At any rate, when you are attempting to help on these forums, I think it would be best to have all the needed info to make a reply before simply telling the guy it can not be done, when in fact it can with the proper equipment.

First off all in the context of the question my response was 100% correct so no I did not in any way get lucky.
It was only when someone else jumped in and talked about tools that can be used with a JTAGed system did the context of the topic change.

Please done try and attack me, while I have to give you credit for the method of your attack on my posts you failed by assuming that I was unable to answer the question. You jumped to the JTAGed tools without taking in to account the high probability of ShMaCk2004 having a fully updated console, even if he did not it is still not possible to make a single all game boot disk and is pointless on a JTAGed system even it was.

So I conclude that I not only had all the tools and information I needed to fully answer the question with my first response to this thread and it still stands as correct at the time of this response.

If had your CPU key you could decrypt your keyvault but if you do not there is no way to retentive it on a updated console.
