Rock Band Custom Dlc
« on: January 17, 2010, 08:58:00 PM »

I have been working on custom DLC for Rock Band using the JTAG exploit.  The first step was to take a legit DLC song extract the contents and remake the package just to make sure it would work.  I got it to work in Rock Band 1 and 2 but I can't get it to work in Lego Rock Band.  Does Lego Rock Band have some new protection on disc so it won't accept custom DLC?

My test song was B.Y.O.B.

In Rock Band 2 even the artwork shows up fine.  All my legitimate DLC that I converted to work with a JTAG xbox shows up fine but not the test song.

Anyone have any insight to this problem.

I used Le Fluffie to create my DLC package and I signed it with a DEV LIVE signature.

I tried this same method for The Beatles Rock Band and I get the same result.  The DLC simply won't show up.  It is recognized fine in the Dashboard but not in the game.  For the Beatles Rock Band I wanted to combine 8 small DLC songs into the full album.  I set up everything properly, edited the files that needed to be edited, but it won't show up.

from what i know you can only add songs that have animation so thats why most other dlc works repacked into rock band 2,but to put a full custom from scratch isn't going to work yet even on jtag

I want to know why the DLC I made does not show up in Lego Rock Band but does in Rock Band 1 and 2.

EDIT: The animations are done in the .mid file.  Plus with the Rock Band Network tools we can easily create custom DLC.

There is not one out yet.  All of my legitimate DLC works fine on my JTAGged xbox in Lego Rock Band but not the custom one I made.

does it really matter as you can export lego rock band into rb2 so why not just use rb2 for all customs, have you managed to add any songs that are proper custom? ie not dlc from other games

It does matter as I want the custom DLC to work on ALL Rock Band games (Rock Band 1 & 2 and Lego Rock Band).  Also I am trying the same thing with The Beatles Rock Band and I took a Beatles DLC, remade the container but it won't be recognized.  There must be something else I have not thought of.

Since Harmonix created the Rock Band Network, we now have the tools to properly make custom DLC for Rock Band.  Just have to figure some values out.

I am curious as to why the same DLC works in RB 1 & 2 but not Lego RB.

You need the license file that you purchased when you first exported the songs.

It seems that overall there is something "extra" on the DLC for most rockband games.  So far there doesnt seem to be any support for it.  I currently have all the Beatles DLC and tried to swap it from another non-Jtaged xbox but it doesnt show up.  I have done all the yaris swap and con-signing and stuff.  It just doesnt show up...
