Is there a way to get the optional media update running on XBReboot? In New Zealand we use AAC in our HDTV over UHF. Without this update you cannot view TV through Win7 Media centre as you need to download it from Live.

yes it can run on a xbr xbox360 just patch it with yarris patcher (patched optional media update has issues with jasper motherboards but works great with all other models)

can u tell me how you do it. I tried to copy the file to \Content\0000000000000000\FFFE07DF\00000002 on memory card. Try con resigner, yeris swap but no luck.

yes I have a hard disc but my profile is on mem card.

I just used Yaris to resign it. Is the file on the memory card or the HDD? Try putting it on the HDD if you haven't. Also are you running XBR or Freeboot?

Also, can you use the media update from any 360 or did you need to download it before hacking your 360?

You can't dl it before hacking your 360 because MS makes you update the dash to an unexploitable version. It sucks. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

actually I think who not able to run optional media update using the wrong update file. At first I used the 2mb update file floating around the net. but thats the wrong file. Actual good file is almost 5 mb big. here is the link for that file

i have a 256mb jasper on xbr8955_3 and my media update file works, plays xvids. the only problem i encountered in this process was trying to unflag a corrupted one. i started again and dumped the media update from my live console (non-banned profile), used YarisSwap, transfered to my hard drive im using for xbr. i can now play xvids on my xbr jasper. all we need now is mkv compatibility, xbmcHD will do lol (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

my present problem is how to run the game update for oblivion without signing into xbl? or where the hell is it stored on the hard drive? lol, no haynes guide out yet...
