Amen to that, but since we don't have that option, unless you call Nintendo's full price single game 10 year old re-releases fair, I think we should get them for free.

Obviously we all get our ROMs for free, but it should be legal.  <

Why did you put "emulators" in there? Emulators have always been free for download.

the only reason emulators for Xbox are illegal is because they are compiled
with the Xbox Development Kit which we are not entitled to use.

other emulators have always been free and legal.  <

i agree about the ROMs, older games that the companies don't get any profit off any more should be legal to download, freeloader.com does it (only pc games, even a recent one called the simpsons hit & run is available) i can't see why games over 5 years old should be illegal to download, its not like the games are over $5/£ anyway  <

An argument against having ROMs for dowload would be the complete assholes that sell emulator/ROM packages on eBay.  <

Wheres the 'polls are gay' option?

Sitting in a emulation forum, i wonder (gee) what people will choose? This is a scene with the majority who lack both knowledge and respect for laws (myself included), so the answer is obvious, and the poll immediately biased upon creation.

The next poll is...

WHO WANTZ TEH MONIES?

I voted yes by feeling, but really the answer is no.  Yes, they should release it or allow a license to support the fans of their previous works especially if they don't even make thaty gaming machine anymore.  But no, they shouldn't be forced to making it available.

Because the unfortunate truth is that they own these titles outright, it's property.  Like if I buy a new car, then eventually let it rot in my driveway.  Sure, it makes sense that someone else should be able to fix it up and drive it, but it's MY car and I can let it sit there and rust as much as I want.  It's a shame, but that's the owner's perogitive (sp?).

Anyway, it's hard to convince them to give away their old titles for free when people are willing to still pay for them piecemail.  Take MS3 on Xbox for example.  You could fit every Neo Geo game made and a perfect emulator on 1 DVD disc for xbox, but why should they when people will pay $30 for just MS3?  If it was $50 and had every Neo Geo title on it, I suspect everyone in this forum would have picked it up by now.  Unfortuately, that's not the way they make maximum money (profits) so it doesn't happen.  Ah well, at least legal or not we CAN get ROMs and enjoy them at home with relative ease.  Be happy...

They should put them in a site like Itoons and sell them 50 cents or something.
