King Kong Exploit
« on: July 05, 2008, 07:24:00 PM »

Right now I am awaiting the return of my 360 with the Infectus II modchip installed in it so that I can downgrade the kernel and run the King Kong Exploit.  I need to know a bit about the exploit.  Do the liveCD's that run on the 360 have a previously patched kernel?  Is it a 2.4 or 2.6 kernel?  I've heard there is no module for the networking card that the 360 uses, is this true or not?  Does the 360 have networking capabilities in linux?

That's it.  Thanks in advance to anyone who can answer my questions.

Thanks,

No they don't have a patched kernel I don't think. What kernel are you talking about? Linux or Xbox 360 kernel? And I am quite sure that network is supported in the latest live cd.

Linux kernel because the regular xbox's kernel required a patch for it to deal with the hardware and filesystems and such I thought the 360's linux kernel might need one too.

I can confirm that the Live CD Gentoo Beta 2 works nicely with the 360's network adatper.
The supplied internet browser can access any web site, etc...

(I've tried it with ICS activated on XP : 360=>PC=>ADSL modem)

Forgot about linux kernel version (and too lazy to check)
