New Motherboard -> Downgrade Kernel -> Associate Drive -> Xbo
« on: October 01, 2007, 07:11:00 AM »

Hey guys,
I was one of those who got banned from xbox live in the spring. I recently got my hands on a new motherboard, but there was no drive key included or anything, and I would really like to get it working, but I thought it was hopeless without the drive key, until I saw this thread: http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=621053

Is this legit? The drive on my current 360 works perfectly, so could I pair it with the new motherboard with the process given above?

The only problem I see is that I have kernel 5766 on my box, but I believe the following thread shows how to downgrade from even 5766: http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?sho...mode=linearplus

So my plan is first to downgrade the kernel, then change the drive key association on my new motherboard to the drive I currently have. After that I could once again connect to xbox live (not sure if there are any other intermediate steps I need to take after this – any input would be appreciated).

Assuming I am competent enough to successfully perform all the steps required for each operation, would this work, and also allow me to play on xbox live again?

Thanks,
Jeff

sorry mate you need your dvd drive to use the infectus modchip!
if you dont have full comunication between the dvd drive and the mother board you canot perform the downgrade>
sorry

you can do three things! talk to the person that killed the original drive and ge the key! have a realy nice dvd player! or get a new xbox with a drive key
