Xbox360 With Two Drives, Modded And Original?
« on: September 15, 2007, 04:59:00 AM »

Hello ,

Would  it possible to use two hdds with the xbox360?
One having the EvoX dashboard and a second one with the original MS Xbox dashboard.
So you could swap the EvoX and the MS drive whenever you want.

Is the OS stored on the HDD at all?
Or is the softhack applied to some kind of internal memory?ever you want.

NO

The Xbox 360's dashboard is stored in the onboard NAND (a 16 meg flash chip). Everything is encrypted and signed to the CPU which stops you loading anything other than the 360 Dashboard. The hard drive stores save games and media, that's it.

It has been possible for some time (with the right dashboard kernel version) to load Linux. So you could potentially load and use a Linux type media center (Linux XBMC when it's released), although sound still isn't working yet.
