hey guys, i was able to get the halo 3 beta and it was awesome but as some of you may know they blocked everyone from getting back into it. some people were able to stay connected if they didnt turn their xboxes off after the period was over. the problem is that i turned my xbox off and i want to try to get back into it.
for those of you that dont know, it was downloaded using crackdown, and in order to play it you have to go into the menu of crackdown and choose 'halo 3 beta,' the thing is that when you hit the 'download' button you have wait about a second before the beta option shows up, in this period of time it contacts the servers at bungie to see if the beta is still active, it will then get a message back saying that it is not and it will just take you to a menu that doesnt really do anything.
my question is that is there anyway to edit the code or anything so that it doesnt contact the servers but just launches the program? i was able to download the whole thing off of bittorrent which you guys should be able to find. i tried to just look at the files, but i didnt really understand any of it even though i was able to find some things (such as error messages and how they display), if any of you guys could help me out it would also help out a lot of other people too
ps. someone told me that if you have a modded xbox it is rather simple, you just have to go in and execute the file, but i dont have a modded xbox and i dont really want to mod mine, so i am looking for a non-invasive way of doing this
