Hitachi V78 Problems Booting Patched King Kong...
« on: May 12, 2007, 01:40:00 PM »

HI there!
I'm trying to boot linux using my xbox 360. I have the correct dashboard version, a patched Hitachi v78 drive (with Xtreme-Maximus 78 1.6), a patched king kong dvd+r dl and a gentoo xenon live beta2 cdrom.

I cannot get the king kong disc start. It wont be read, it wont boot.

Then, i tested it on another newer console (with samsung xtreme 5 drive) and it boots fine but it hangs on main menu (because of the patch i imagine).

Then, i tested other games burned on same dvd support (mediarange dvd+r DL 2.4x) and they works on both consoles.

Now, i dont understand what is the problem with my console.

Could you help me resolving it?

Since you can reproduce the issue at will, you should contact the author of your firmware/chipset and have him fix the issue.
