The new bata of Vista has a Media Center built in, We were able to Stream AVI, WMA, MPEG to the 360.
there once the 360 is booted Vista recognized it on the network and we had to enter a media key.

We only tested on NTSC boxes.
i don't see why it would be region specific...

Mine wont play any AVI files that I tried, but it can create thumbnails for them all. I'm using a PAL xbox. I think I'll try re-encoding them into wmv's and see if that works.

i got a pal 360, with RC1 and when i try to connect the media center, while in the setup proccess the xbox presents a screen with " the xbox 360 has unexpectedly disonnected from the media center..."
anyone knows how to solve it?
tyred dmzing the computer, turning off the firewall, setting no away mode for the computer, disabling hibernation, enabling file and media sharing, disabling password filesharing, allowing the xbox on the media connect.

i'm really lost, any help?

i tested it on a pal one an it worked
