The folder can be called anything, as long as you 'show' FCEUltraX where it is.
From the FCE Menu - Configuration/General Settings/Change Default Directories I think. <

No, do not edit the INI file. There is no longer any reason to do so. Most of the time, people don't follow the instructions on how to properly edit the INI file, so my preference is for no one to do so anymore. Anything you need to change can be done through the menus.
