Hello I was wondering if I could get some advice. I am looking to modify my dvd drive with a modchip. I just want a simple setup.  I have a 2006ish xbox with a Hitachi 79 drive I believe. (off top of my head)
I want a simple setup just to be able to turn the chip on/off. I was wondering is there a way to have this setup and have great chances of not being caught. For I would disable the chip for online use with original discs. I haven't been following up with the ban statics. So I wasn't sure if the last wave demolished the chips or not. Anyway I would love some insight. Thanks for your time.

-Carl

p.s. I may be wrong with my version number. but I think it was something like 79 or 54. I'll go home and update.

your more likely to get court with a chip then if you flash the firmware

cos m$ protected the firmware so well that thy cant read it at all (without having the xbox in there hands)

the only way you can get band is if u play a badly burnt game on live you will have that problem with a chip to

I want to have the stealth capability. Because I don't want to use burnt games on live. I also don't want to have to constantely update my firmware over and over. If I had a mod chip from my understanding. I would only need to update my modded firmware and not my original firmware for live would do that. Am I correct? If so that's what I'm looking for is a easy to use product. So the chip would turn off during live so they wouldn't detect it at all correct?  My main goal here is to  remove the constant updating needed with modded firmware.

there is not any constant updating i have had my drive modded for almost a year and theres only just a new wave now plus if u use a mod chip u need to update that when new waves come

if i added a chip to the console there is a far grater risk then firmware that had absolutely no way of being seen unless u burn the game wrong which you will get the same problem with any of the mod chips

what i am saying is there is no a hop in hell that M$ can read your firmware with out having the box in there hands thy protected it so good

THY CAN NOT READ THE MODDED FIRMWARE

if you dont want to open the xbox every time to flash the firmware then theres a mod floting bout some where that some guy put 2 sata ports at the back of his xbox one going to drive and one going to the board then joint them on the back withth exbox sata cable then all u need to do is remove one and flash
