You must undrestand, though, that going with a modchip is a very good option in regards to safety from being banned from Xbox LIVE. Flashing your DVD drive with the iXtreme firmware is more risky than a modchip, because eventually MS will catch you with a hacked firmware, whereas a chip doesn't touch the firmware at all and leaves it completely original and intact.
And I back my statement with a fact. You are only allowed to play original games on Xbox LIVE; its an automatic ban in you play using one of your backups. With that said, the only people who have ever gotten banned from LIVE were either those with a hacked firmware or those who were caught using backups online, which again is against the rules and illegal. No one with a modchip has ever gotten banned, so long as only original games were played online. I am living proof of this myself, having started with a Xeno-360 a little over 2 years ago, and recently upgrading to the NMEv2.0, all the while my Xbox LIVE account remains fine. Now, had I gone the route of flashing my firmware years ago, I have no doubt that by now I would have joined the list of banned Xbox LIVE consoles.
Absolute nonsense.. flash your drive or pay somebody to flash it for you when the 1.6 firmware arrives and you will be fine,
ALL modding solutions carry the risk of a ban, and have been banned at some point..
The firmware modding has come on a long way since it came out, and has become the most secure way to mod.. but your never 100% safe.., you pay your money and make your choice... but a chip is a waste of money imho.
To answer the original posters question, i do not believe that there is a solderless mod chip for the 360, and tbh.. solderless chips are unreliable at times, if your not good with a soldering iron or a pc.. then pay somebody to flash your drive.. itl be about the same price of a chip and its cheaper than a new 360 when you kill it
