Xbox Live With Modchip
« on: March 23, 2009, 03:08:00 AM »

Okay, so I've had my 360 for 2 years, and it was presented to me with a modchip already in it for my birthday. I never got into Xbox live at all until recently. I've been playing on live for the past 2 months with no problems. I've been reading lately about how I run the risk of getting banned. I realize that, but is it normal for me to last 2 months playing on live?

I read one article that suggested I make a gamertag and join Xbox live well after the modchip was already put in. That being the case with my xbox, does that lower my chances of being caught?

any modificatrion to the console or in game cheating puts you at risk of being banned.

They ban the console not the gamer tag so that does not matter when u created it

I got on for you, lets say you install the game in the hard drive. Than play the game off the hard drive, yes I know it will ask you to put the game in to see if you have it. Will that keep you from getting banned if you put the back up in to just boot up from?

sparky, no one knows. that's why they aren't going to argue with you.  all we can do is give you tips on making backups correctly, and making sure you keep your firmware updated.

So far the banhammer has not come down which is why everyone is wondering if they are safe, but like i said, NO ONE knows.

Let me make is simple for everyone...

If you're 360 is modded (even with the latest iXtreme 1.7), you are still at a risk of getting busted by Microsoft.
It doesn't matter what kind of game you're playing, whether its genuine or a backup, whether its copied to the hard drive or not, whether you're on Live Gold or Silver...

Basically MS run random checks on ALL users connected to Xbox Live, and if they detect any modifications then they will permanently ban your machine from Xbox live.

Now obviously they don't check every Xbox so you could very well be going Live for months and months without getting busted, but my advice is that if you are playing single player or don't need Live, then just disconnect the network cable... thats the safest way..

Hope this helps..
