Just wondering if the new dash coming in November will have any effect on current mod chips?

This was asked a few days ago, with hostile answers, and the thread was closed  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Since its now actually out, i was wondering if anyone tried it out yet...

I can confirm from far out MS connections, that FW modded xboxes will be banned and you will not be able to get the update. All because of the different size of firmware on the modded ones, but i couldnt get any information regarding CHIPS like NME. Theyre switched off when going on LIVE, so it shouldn't be a problem.

I'm afraid though. Im not sure i can use the chip, once i've upgraded. How will the xbox boot?, and will we still be able to play backed up games???

Regards. A currently very nervous gamer

MS can't check the drive firmware, and noone got banned with it either.
Don't believe every garbage some random MS hotline guy claims.

NO WAY!!! That's terrible! I'm so sorry to hear that man, what are you going to do!???
I was thinking of getting the NMW chip, and after having NO WAY to order one (for my Hitatchi Drive) I just gave in to getting the Xeno 360....here's to hoping I do not get banned too, although I would not dare play burned games on my xbox. Did you do that? Is that how you were caught?? Did you have the Auto Disable Live wire in too?

Best of luck,
D

you were banned for using improperly stealthed games, NOT the chip. the NME simply has no proper stealth checks, so if you went online with a flawed dump, you got tagged by MS.

there is no way they can see if you have a nme chip due to the fact when its not on, the dvd drive still has the origonal fw.this makes it even safer that flashing new fw to your dvd drive.if they ever do start checking fw, all the flashed drives will be banned ,and the nme chips will be safe. unless your running a backup when connected to XBL,however the nme chip has a optional feature that cuts off XBL when it is in use. if your running the origonal disc when on XBL then all they will see is the stock fw that came with your console.however as far as i know, they can't or do not check for firmware ver at this time.
