yeah well Im giving up flashing or even thinking of flashing this shit, can I at least put a MOD CHIP in it? Are there any chips out there where I dont need to solder and can I just plug it in, thanks!

PS: I have an xbox arcade, I just picked it up yesterday with a lite-on drive. And also its MF date is 7-29-2008

if you can't flash a drive, you can't mod it either. modchips do nothing but replace or patch the existing firmware. the very same a flash does.
as for solderless: hell no.

You can pull the key of the Lite-On and replace it with a different drive. No mod-chip required.

How do I get the key from a Lite-On? I have a spare samsung drive vom a broken xbox ...

I also got an arcade, unless you already didn't know, the lite-on is flashable now, ixtreme 1.5

you can purchase kit to extract the key yourself, but plenty of people out there will do it for you for half the price, granted you wont have the kit yourself for another time, if you get someone else to do it for you, but do you need it ?
