With Nme Gone, What Other Chips Are Out There?

I have been using NME2.0 chips for quite some time now, and I was wondering what alternative chips are out there?  I may have to resort to flashing, but I always prefer hard mods.

As long as the new update has no surprises, you should have nothing to fear. Just don't hold your breath  ohmy.gif

Are you aware of any other alternative chips though (Globe 360, etc.)?  Or will flashing be the only option?

flashing is always the best option. there's no reason for modchips unless you have money to burn.

Why is flashing always the best option?

I am still in the old school mindset of the original Xbox that if you have a modchip installed you can disable it and go back to factory settings so you can not be detected on Live.

Is it possible to safely play on Live with a flashed firmware?

In terms of safety, NME works very well. You can start the xbox on live mode with network connected and its all good. You can start your xbox on modchip mode which disables the network (provided you connect the correct wire to disable network), then that works.

the only pain in NME is the process to create backups. For somereason there isin't a perfect documentation for NME Install(Live mode network pic is incorrect)  and/or to make backups. nmeassociator sometimes corrupts the images.

Isin't nme available anymore?

the NME isn't safe at all. it has no stealth features whatsoever. if MS flags bad backups with missing security info, you get banned next time you connect to live, no matter if the network was turned off by the chip while you played the game.

I have yet to read nme users with network off feature enabled being banned form live. If you play nme backups with nme, then nothing gets flagged. I've been using the nme for more than a year and am currently streaming netflix while connected to live.

NME 2.0 is discontinued, but team underdog isn't gone and neither is the NME. From what I've heard the new version is in manufacturing right now. Not sure what it will be called, but they are expect to hit resellers in about 1-2 weeks.

Also, Arakon, why the hostility towards mod chips? Isn't this the "Modchip Development / Research" sub-forum? Why are you trolling around in here anyway? If you're so set against mod chips, there's no need for you to come spewing non-sense, just stay out of this section. Then you won't be tempted to be an ass.
