Hi, I followed some tutorials to flash my benq drive. None of the tutorials said to backup the dvd key, incase of a bad flash.

So now i flashed my benq without the dvd key, which results the xbox 360 to just read dvd movies, a £300 dvd player, great!, (i got the elite when it came out, which was £300).

Anyways I dont really want to spend anymore money on the xbox 360 as you can imagine i've already spent a lot of money on it. I've been doing some research, and came across the infectus modchip. Is it possible to use the modchip and recover the dvd key?

Also if possible, where can I purchase it?, mrmodchips still haven't fixed their site yet.

If the key is lost there is NOTHING you can do.

not even with the modchip?

I read on their website that you can change the dvd key from the NAND chip on the motherboard?

do change the key or region using an infectus. you need to have your CPU key. without working dvd drive, it's impossible to get the CPU key.

I see, thanks for clearing that up. So whats the solution? I would need to buy a motherboard and dvd drive combo? Or would it be cheaper to just buy another unit, and wait if theres a working solution for the dvd key?

the chances to recover the key are quite slim, unless someone manages to fully hack the system, which is not anytime soon.
buy a MB with a known drive key, or a MB + drive.

Well, I've looked over at ebay, they dont seem to have many mobo/dvd combo. I would need a PAL version. The harddrive would still work for another xbox right? I have all of my game saves on there!

Dont buy the infectus2 modchip !
Read the infectus2 FORUM before !

Infectus2 have one bug with idgtool and you cant not downgrade the 360!
