Burning Games Confusion For Nme 2.0 Mod Chip

Please help. I'm new to this. It would be great if someone can answer a couple of my questions.

1. When using NME Associator 0.3b on ISO files 7.05GB and less, do I have to extract ss and merge, and then convert Xtreme ISO to NME format? Or is it convert first to NME format, and then extract ss and merge? Which step comes first before burning with ImgBurn?

2. When using the Xbox 360 SS Merger 1.7b on ISO files more than 7.05 GB, do I have to convert the original Xtreme ISO into NME format (by using NME Associator convert tool) after I merge and create a layer break for it (with check mark on "Create a NME compatible ISO") in the Xbox SS Merger? In other words, is the original Xtreme ISO already converted into NME format when I merge and create a layer break for it in the Xbox SS Merger? Therefore, is it still necessary to use NME Associator to convert it to NME format after I use Xbox 360 SS Merger? I know ImgBurn is the last step.
