ive heard that the infectus chip can read the dvd key from the motherboard without the dvd drive.(the original drives motherboard was broken). so i want to know if this chip can really read the dvd drive key directly from the motherboard. and if anyone has done this and how to do and install the chip.

Not unless you already have your CPU key. If you dont have it, you need your dvd-key to get it and you can't change the information in your keyvault without the cpu key.

with working drive, because you need to boot to linux (IMG:style_emoticons/default/pop.gif)

To bad we couldnt boot linux with usb flash drive

I had a 360 that was stuck in an UPDATE loop... Fixing it required that I copy the update over to a thumbdrive, insert it in the 360 and then it read and installed the update and then everything was good and right with the universe.

Is it possible to force the 360 to boot from a thumbdrive in some manner and then boot up LINUX??
