Difference Between 7.29, 7.17, And 7.05 Gb Images? Nme

Can anyone explain the difference between 7.29, 7.17, and 7.05 GB images? AND, do the current issues people are having with burning NME backups have to do with the location of the security sector on the backup? Is the "SS Merger 1.7b" tool doing the same thing that the "NME associator" tool is doing?
