Dash Update And New Codec For Banned 360

I have a banned 360 but am still able to install the latest dash updates by swapping hard drives with a good 360 that can connect to Xbox Live.  Unfortunately, following the installation of the fall 07 dash update, MS requires you to connect your 360 to Live in order to download a required codec when attempting to play Xvid or Divx files.

Does anyone know of an alternative method of retrieving and installing this codec?
