Globe 360 V2 (need Support)
« on: November 28, 2007, 10:21:00 AM »

Hi all,

I have installed the globe 360 v2, its connected to pc through usb. the usb pcb light shows green FW0 (when power up xbox360 from power button) or green FW0 : orange FW1 (when power up from eject), the flash manager 1.3 on pc shows connected. i can read my original fw from the program, but unable to flash FW0 or FW1, when i try to write the flash manager close with windows msg globe_360.exe has stop working. This happens on xp and vista OS.

I uninstall the globe 360 v2, test the Xbox360 in its original state, works fine.
Then installed the globe 360 v2 again, same thing happen.  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/uhh.gif)

Could it be..
the chip banks?
Poor installation?
Application Flash manager?

pls help... thanks

Which install did you do, did you use the easy installation pcb or wires?  Also what drive/chipset?

Hi, sendt u a PM, but still.

Give us the right way to solv this problem.
My globe 360 program can't write firmware which is encrypted, only noncrypted.
My 0079fl only takes the en crypted ones, or else it will go all E6* on me    mad.gif

Looking forward to your answer, PM.

Sorry buddy, been away...
The what hack firmware are u using?
For the globe 360 hack firmware - the file bin file has both samsung and hatchi, split it. (NOTE: the hatchi firmware is already encrypted, don't encrypted it again would become unknown).
Place the hack firmware in the same directory of the flash manager.

let me know how u go...

Hi.

Nice to have you back.
I have a 0079FL Hit.. and we used the PCB not wire on it. It's connected to the eject and all places.

I have seen the Globe fimrware, and will try that one rigt away.

Tried many og the Ixtreme versions, but when I flash them encrypted the v1.3 of flash software shuts down due to prgram failure.

BTW: can you read the key from your org bin, mine looks not right, encrypted or not.

Oh, and one more: When I flash the globe 360 v2, it does not affect the firmware on the drive just the globe chip right?

Hi folks!

I just installed my globe 360 v2 on my samsung.
Connecting it through the usb to my pc worked fine, the pc recognized it and installed it as new hardware.
But when I start the globe flash program 1.3 it says that the 360 is disconected.
Manual connection dont work either.

When I have the globe connected to the pc I can hear the connecting/deconnecting-hardware-sound as I turn the xbox on and of, so it seems that my PC connects to the chip, but the globe flash program don't....

Everything seems to work as it should when I use the xbox.
I can play original games if I start the xbox with the 360 chip shut off, so it seems that the chip is working as it should in the xbox.
I can also start the xbox with FW0 or FW1 and gets E65 witch the flash installation guide says is perfectly normal, since there are no firmware flashed to FW0 or FW1.

So my problem is I cant connect to the chip with the globe flash program and therefore I cant flash the chip with firmware and therefore I cant play back-up-games......and christmas eve is getting closer  FAAAAAST and the xbox is THE christmas gift to my sevenyear old son......

HEEEELP please!!!!!

click on original flash tab - do a read on that. once complete click on hack flash tab. load the original fw. it should state you drive firmware and key. (this to check if the dump was correct). if dumping correct most likely soldering is correct.

place the hack fw in the same directory as manager app (this could be the problem app close)
load up the hack fw, click write. during writing the app same like its not responding/freeze. just leave it wait for roughly for a few minutes, it should complete (don't worry about the status process bar, sometimes it doesn't update due to the freeze\not repsone.)

The globe 360 v2 has 2 banks. these are accces through the hack firmware tab. the read button read the fw on the globe 360 banks and write button writes to it.

the original tab access the bank on your drive - recommend not to write to it, just read to get original fw, store it in a safe place. just in case things go wrong. (leave original flash disable in setting)
to make sure the original stay lock.

flashing through hack tab does not affect original fw.

maybe u already tried this, if not

unintsall the hardware driver, reinstall.
uninstall app, reinstall.
if that did'nt help, check the connect strip is connected proper, at both ends.
also check if tx light on.

hope that solve the problem.

Thx for your answer...I have tried to uninstall the hardware driver and reinstalled it with no difference.

Uninstll app....hmmm the globe flash program 1.3 is only a .exe file wich isn't installed. I just run it and the program works (but doesn't recognize my chip).
Do you use another application to flash your globe chip??? Or have I missed something since I haven't installed any application???

The tx light is NOT on! What does that mean? And what is the other RX light? They just light weak red when I turn off the xbox.

HEURUKA!

Followed your advice about reinstalling hardware driver and THIS time it worked (maybe because I resoldered one point at the chip since last reistalling, I dont knor) smile.gif

Reading my orig.bin works fine, also checking it like you said above to another guy.
But my app also shuts down when I trie to write hacked fw (iextreme 1.4) even if I put it in the app folder.

Any more suggestions?

I had the same problem when i first started writing the hack fw to chip. both on xp and vista.

1) what i did was check my soldering points (touch up), downloaded globe_flash_v1.3 again. extracted. get file  ftd2xx.dll from \drivers\i386 folder, copy to main app folder.
2) run the app (disconnect - connect in device). click on original flash tab, read my orig fw. save it in the app folder.
3) copy ixtrem fw and globe fw (dl globe fw need to be split) to app folder.
4) click on setting tab select dual mode enable. on the hack tab select fw for each bank. click write. "write and verify complete". Ever since, that problem did not reoccur.

Hopefully this too work for you,
if not successful repeat 4) each time rebooting x360.

- when usb cable is connected to comp and pcb board, tx and rx light on, when x360 is off.
- when x360 on, it doesn't matter if pcb fw0 light on and fw1 light off or fw0 light on and fw1 light on.
- globe mention e65, but i got e64. (just for info, not make any diff i think)

SIDE -> careful with globe chip board mounting, might touch the drive head. cause dvd reading problem and damage drive. use strong double sided tape and duct tape or glue gun. to stick against main board. check enough gap between board and head drive (move head in and out)

biggrin.gif Just finish flashing Benq drive with dosflash biggrin.gif  Hope globe360 team find ways to chip the benq with the globe360 v2. eg benq easy connect pcb.
