New Firmware Dvd Mod For All Xbox360s

Rumor has it that the all the Xbox360's DVD drives are mod-flashable now (new xbox's).  True or not?  I know that only the older ones could be flashed w/out problems.  

I realize its somewhat of a noob questions and I expect comments, but please just let me know if this is true and where i need to start looking next.  If it is true, I will buy one tomorrow and mod it right away.
