I hate to be redundant, but does this mean I can now play backups over an HDMI cable?

I have installed and tested my sample NME2 on a Halo Ed with Benq.  It works great !!

It is not a rip off of the flash, I have had my sample well before C4eva released or even announced he was almost done with Ixtreme for BenQ !!

the differnce is the NME patches data lines it does not completely take over the firmware, it is not a huge install like globe 360.

Since when can the flash disable the netowrk and/or USB ports?  This is done by NME to prevent you from using backups on live which is smart.  less risk!!

Letsmod or anyone,

Say you go ahead and solder the network disable wire for the NME 2.0 chip. This means your protected from getting banned playing a backup and not being able to go on Xbox Live.

What about if you connect that wire and want to play on other online gaming servers like Xlink KAI or XB Connect which doesn't discriminate if your using an original or backup game? Are you screwed from having any type of broadband connection when you are playing with a backup and using the NME 2.0?

I am debating if I should make that solder connection for Network Disable or not to when I get this chip.

from my understanding of previous ban's is that MS keeps a log on your X360 of checksums, if you log into live it sends the log to MS and they sift through them, then issue a ban next to you go to live.

So based on that, I an not 100% if that is what is going on, just my understanding is yes, then you would be banned from live, no idea on the other stuff

Okay Letsmod....so if I understand what your saying I am likely to get banned eventually if I ever play a backup period (Not playing on Live however) with the network disable wire not connected and broadband connected. So when I do eventually go onto Live with an original game and chip powered off I can still get banned because the checksum were logged at the time I was playing with a backup?  Where are the checksums logged? On the 360 HDD?

That's really nuts if the above scenario is true. You really don't have any protection at all with the nme given the above example then cause MS will eventually catch you. I already played backups with network disable wire not connected. Does this mean my checksums are already logged and if I take a Live update or play on Live with an original game I can get banned now?

First off, we have NO evidence that shows they do offline checks.  All of the checks are done when on Live.  So, they are not logged on your HDD (as not all consoles have a HDD!) but reported back via Live, as far as we know.

Secondly, they are currently checking the following:  PFI, DMI, Capacity, and another challenge/response.  You can see the live logs here.

Caster.

Ok...so if this is the case I have no concerns that I already played a backup offline Live with the network disable wire not connected.

Going back to my original question then....I would imagine soldering the net disable wire prevents broadband connection period so you can't go on Live or any other game server. If this is innacurate please advise.

My thinking then so I can play on KAI and XBC with a backup is to install a SPDT switch on that net disable line. This way I can flip the switch to break the circuit and get broadband access playing with the backup to get on KAI or XBC and then flip the circuit back for addded protection on Live again. This makes sense to me if you need broadband access with the backup right?

I love peeps that have something productive to say. Don't say anything at all then.

What gets me is that peeps that that think flashing their firrmware with iXtreme are invulnerable to getting banned and I think that's being very naive. Your altering a major hardware device that shouldn't be. MS can release hell at anytime no matter what you are hacking your 360 with to play backups. It's just a matter of when and how they can detect.

Now i would put my money on having a modchip unaltering my dvd firmware as the safer bet. MS can get their hands on the Ixtreme flash and take it apart so peeps can probably become a target. If your using a chip and it's off and your using the origin MS firmware your better off right?

Just my 2 cents and I am by no means a pro on this. Just using my common sense.

Anyway back to my issues above and hope someone can confirm my question on the net disable wire and my idea of a SPDT switch to play on Kai, XBC, or Leaf.

Ok, well, I am completely lost here =P Lol. Anyways, just to get to the point so I don't bore you guys, does anyone have this chip yet and installed it and tested it ? I am thinking of getting the chip because the description of this chip sounds like a hell of a chip. Is it Xbox 360 Live Ban - free? (and I am talking about playing originals online, not backups) When playing with Backups, I was wondering if anyone has turned the chip off (network) then turned it back on to play original online and see if got banned? Well, anyways , hope you guys can help me decide whether or not to get this chip or not =P

Ok I am currently thinking of getting this new chip as my old 360 got the dreaded ring and the new xbox's DVD-Player is an Hitachi so my plan of switching the old Xtreme-flashed dvd-player with the dvd-player in the new xbox360 failed miserably.

However seeing as how my backups are currently all made to be played on an Xtreme-firmware flashed dvd player, my question which I will need answered before I get this new chip is; Will an xbox360 With the NME 2.0 chip be able to play backup games which work in Xtreme-firmware flashed drives?
