Is Globe 360 The Answer To My Dvd Drive Problems?
« on: August 02, 2007, 07:22:00 PM »

A 360 motherboard that I have works perfectly thanks to an x-clamp replacement, but the only problem is that I don't have the original DVD drive that came with it, and don't know the key. If I installed a Globe 360 chip into a spare drive, would the drive key bypass feature of it allow me to play games on it? Thank you.

I would assume so, but I am not 100%.  I just finished reading up on this chip (never had a use for it though) and from what I am reading it seems that it does indeed skip the drive key check, which in my mind would mean that you could install it to any drive and play it in any Xbox 360.

If you get a new drive, I would try and make sure to get one of the older ones, because the new BenQ and Hitachi models currently don't support modchips. Any Samsung or Hitachi 46, 47, 58, 59, or 79 should be good.
