Globe 360 Question
« on: August 01, 2007, 10:33:00 AM »

Hey guys... I have had my bricked hitachi back when gears of war came out.  I was goin to do the chillfix at that point but never got to it.  I might be reading wrong and wanted some info.  Does the Globe 360 also give me the ability to flash the onboard (Original) firmware?  If I installed the chip bypassing my Bricked Bad Flash  would that fix my drive for backups at least?  I just want to be sure that if my drive is as of now bricked (Bad Flash) would this help get me up and running??? I just dont want to install the chillfix to fix the flash if I plan to install another chip later.

My Drive Hitachi 47d firmware

Thanx for the input

I am sure that the flashing is only on the chip itself, I dont think it will flash your board. (I am saying this with almost no background knowledge of the Globe 360 though, sorry, I just never used one because I never saw a use for it with the other chips out.)

I figured about the same.  I had just noticed that the chip installs a lot like the chillfix chip. Plus I saw something about a dual firmware option and wasnt sure if that was including the onboard dvd drive firmware.  I may get it none the less so that I can at least get mine up and running again with or without the original firmware.  Thanx for the reply.

No problem man, and from what I have been reading, I think it does work how you are thinking.  Ive read that it skips the drive key check, which would mean any drive would work in the 360 if I am thinking correctly here...
