Hi

I got nme chip in before i learnt how to do fw mod (done 4 for freinds now)

I want to remove the chip and use new fw, is it possible for someone with little (none)  soldering experience to remove the chip, or can u point me to a tut
(I want to remove it cause when i turn on 360 it starts to load with the ball then freezes but i don't get red lights, i think it could be chip related (please, please, please))

update for those of you playing at home

removed, 3 lights of death, and then worked for a moinute or 2, then 3 lights of death

i guess the chip was preventing the lights of death?

Well how did you remove it?  Did you just cut the wires, or completely unsoldered them?

You should check to make sure no solder spilled over onto other points on the DVD Drive board.
