I Need A Replacement Dvd Drive For My Xbox 360

I install the nme v1.2 on hitachi dj59. i screw it up and it will no longer work. I need a new dvd drive. Do I need to get the same dvd drive or I should get the samsung dvd ts-h943 drive to make the installing easier? I heard that you have to get the original hitachi dj59 dvd drive to be able to use it on the same xbox 360. help please.

Im not 100% sure, but I assume you can use any DVD Drive in your Xbox 360, so long as you obtain the drive key from your original Hitachi Drive so that you can mate the new one to your Xbox 360's motherboard.  Check the forums/tutorial guides, they have all the step by step procedures you need for doing this.

you should be able to use any xbox360 drive.
but you will have to use your PC to extract the original hitachi firmware, obtain your drive number. then flash the new drive with that number and to be safe have it set to Spoof your original firwmware, go ask on the firmware forums how to do that.

While you're doing all that - might as well just flash with the hacked firwmware (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
