Has anyone thought of trying another 470 coil in place of the original one that comes on the NME 1.2???? these coils arent hard to find....PPl have been saying that the 470 coil in this new batch of chips is not working......well......just put another in it's place.....would be interested to know what would happen....maybe the network off feature would start working??????? and the issues would be resolved???? I know there has been speculation that the coil controls the new network off feature...... Just a thought.....Would be interesting if someone would try it...........

Here is the reply team-underdog sent me about the coils:

well there is a known issue about the 470 coils which are on the chip. the
factory placed the wrong coils. they do have a 5ohm resistance but they
were meant to have 0 ohms. on samsung you must simply desolder them and
shorten the points then everythign should work smoothly.

on hitachi its the same but one guy posted on xbox-scene that he replaced
the 470 for the 220 that comes with the chips and he got it working really
flawlessly.

another strange issue is that the chips seem to get some power to the
output pins from the front-panel connection. the chips do not reset
correctly due to this. so you better do not solder the front
panel-connection (power led) for the batch you are having right now.

so you are saying that the network off point is worth soldering but the power led is not? So the network off feature is working, you just arent able to tell if it's working or not because the power led point will not be soldered? Im still not sure how you will be able to tell if the modchip is engaged or not if you dont solder the network off point or the power led....this is important to me cause i dont want to get banned from xbox live...... I've decieded that when my chip comes in I'm not going to solder the optional points....But my question is this----How can you tell when the chip is working and when it is not (when the optional points arent soldered)?????
