Nme, Are They Undetectable?
« on: March 08, 2007, 04:43:00 PM »

i came across this one site that said the nme's are undetectable because they inject the hacked firmware on the fly. i want to kno if this is tru? it came from a qj.net article. the article went on about how you can use your backups on live and never be detected. i read somewhere also that the chip is in a place where microsoft cant tell its in the system. i'll put links up later. i'm on here wit my phone. go opera mini. lol.

The NME is detectable. If connected correctly, it switches off the network when a copy is put into the drive.

If you put in an original disk, the NME board allows the 360 to use the DVD drive's firmware. When the board detects a copy inserted, it shuts off the network and the DVD drive uses the firmware within the NME chip.

You do not have to connect the network-off feature but you risk being banned.

TeamUnderdog claims the chip is undetectable, but really ...whos to know for sure?

Until MS starts banning people we'll never really know.

The NetworkOff point is really for peace of mind more so than anything else.
