Can anyone use the continuity checker on their multimeter and see if it beeps when you touch both sides of the cap )?
I have soldered for years, but had no luck with my backups working, so while retouching my solder points I am embarassed to say I had a seizure while soldering to the cap and burnt it off the chip. I cleanly resoldered it, but it is showing ground continuity across both sides of the chip (it isn't bridged) but unfortunately I don't know if it should. Does anyone know it's value in case it needs replaced?? Could someone please tell me if theirs has continuity?

Come on, anyone? All I need is the(IMG:http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s68/mikehenya/nme12sammode.jpg) value of the cap and/or if there is continuity betweeen the 2 point I dotted in yellow. I added a pic to help. Thanks

I tested this today on a non-problematic NME 1.2 and it did not respond with continuity across the cap. I can only assume the same would be true of a problematic NME 1.2.

Finally! Thanks! So I do have a bad chip!! Now I need to find a surface mount to match, Did it show you the value?
