Got NME1.2 recently, cant get the damn thing to work, plays originals fine, backups display 'insert this ... into 360 console' message.
Tried everything, removed coil and put it to 5v and bridged, removed coil completely... nothing.
Backed up and burned disk exactly as NME website states with 111D and verbatim disks. STUMPED!!!!!
So disappointed after buying 2 dvd drives, 20 disks and the bloody chip, over 100 squid for nothing!
All connections are fine, buzzed them out and checked voltages on chip when connected and all seems hunky dorey, WHY WHY WHY dont you work?
Why sell a product that is obviosuly not tested and working correctly? dont even have the LED and network points connected. B is connected to ground.
Maybe it has something to do with the m28 sammy drive? Mine was made in aug 06. I am sure I am doing the backups correctly, tried with 3 different games and none work. No errors on backing up or burning, used Schtom 3.1, nme_associator and Imgburn (with layer break set correctly).
Some people have suggested that the ground off the cap is not great and to use the ground from the power connector, anybody tried this? Somebody else suggested that maybe the ss is not being extracted correctly, how do you know?
What am I doing wrong?
the best advice if your struggling, find a friend who has it flashed and take your disc to him the nme associator works fine with xtreme but xtreme burns dont work with nme "security sector is wrong reading posts around the board"
