Solution.
Remove the "470" coil, and replace it with the "220" coil as shown on the picture below.
IPB Image

Both Originals and the backup works. But you have to turn the machine of and on if swithcing from a backup to an original.

Happy moddning. biggrin.gif

nice pic Payam - please post anymore you have, lets get a proper installation guide up and running save all the questions, after all everyone needs a little help when starting out modding

cheersy

The point which got my interest ist the Statement from Team Underdog: "Remove and move the 47 coil to the 5 volt".

Should we test the combination?

I Think they ment to bridge the 470 and solder it in line to the 5 Volt like the 220 on an Hitachi...

Can somebody test this?

I would but i'd opened my xbox so many times i don't have the mood to do it once more without the confirmation from some source which states that it would work.

I also have to say that the Support from Team Underdog is like their chip, it works on some ways but its not perfect. I think if they know the problem and know what to do they should make a tutorial for those which have problems with their chip. This tiny little sentence which i postet on top is a bit "husch-husch" like we say in Germany.
They postet to bring detailed Infos later that day, it was the 6th and today we have the 11th of this Month and they did....
Nothing.

I have to say i am a big fan of the nme360 Chip because IF it works the functions are great. (network cutting, and status LED)
But if this chip isn't working in my box like it schould (stays ON and i have to Reboot the box to change the Status) i would had done a Firmware-Flash because this works.
Im very disappointed but i want to figure out some way the chip works perfect. As i said without infos from the developer i can't.

And what ist this with the Network Funktion? I Modded a Hitachi Drive of a Friend before i tried my own Samsung. And my friend has got the SMD Capacitor on the Network Point like shown on the Pics. I've got an empty place in my box. There is no capacitor or something else. Whats this? Nobody knows i think. It took me 3 Hours of searching google to find some bare Infos about the chip and its problems. As a consequence i stopped searching here because here are some more People with this Problem. But the fix is not "out" allready did i get this?

So what should we (the owners of such a Samsung-Problem-Drive) do?
Live with that rebooting issue?
Just wait until Team Underdog bring some infos?
Contact Team Underdog?

You know what i mean, i only want some clean 1-2-3 Step tut from somewhere to fix this. it is very annoing to screen the whole xbox-underground to get some barely infos which in most cases point in other directions.
Some say this, other say that an Team Underdog say a whole other thing which is only a little bit more than nothing.

O.K. thats it for now, i only wanted to tell somebody about my anger. So please excuse my bad English including my grammar mistakes and so on (i'm feeling like Team Underdog laugh.gif  ). But there is no other Board in which i could write it down with the Hope of get help.

Thanks for listening!

P.S.: Now i getting myself a big amount of  pop.gif  and watch this discussion, hoping that there will be a solution soon....

I've emailed team underoos a couple of times over the last 2 weeks and got nothing back so their either inundated with emails or they don't care. They definitely claim to have a very good product but if it doesn't work as they claim, then it's not too good.

From looking at their website, I think their response was cut off.

"Remove and move the 47 coil to the 5 volt"

To the 5 volt what? I don't care what language they speak. There's no 47 coil. This is a 470 µH inductor (coil). 470 is 470 in any language.

Until they post more, don't connect anything to the +5 v connection other than the 5 volt wire. Connecting the 470 coil to the +5 volt and to another connection could damage the NME chip or even worse, something on the Samsung drive.

I certainly believe that something can be done as it worked for me 1 time. But when it booted the backup, I started playing the game and then shut down and did it again. This time, and ever since then, it doesn't boot that backup or any other.

1) Install chip with whatever Optional points you want.
2) Test chip
3) If it doesn't work, test all connections
4) Make sure backup is made properly
5) If 3 and 4 are good, then remove 470 coil and short the points
6) Test chip.
7) If chip works, clean it up and close the xbox
8) If chip doesn't work, replace shorted 470 coil points with 220 coil
9) Test chip
10) If chip works, clean it up and close the xbox

Well it's because there's still a problem. The jumper makes it work, but not as advertised, or at least not with ever type of drive. If it did, mine would work. But it will not boot an original with the jumper in.

Thats the Point! The chip works flawlessly, but not as advertised!
I have to reboot to change chip status!
I can't use the Network off function!
The LED says nothing about the chip!
If i boot with an original and switch to an backup on a running system the LED turns OFF but the game won't boot already. This means the chip is allready OFF but the LED says its on. So what?

I'm not tryin to spam out this forum, i only grab every straw which points me to a solution, a 1-2-3 solution wich fixes the whole thing. The tut you pointed me to is a fix which only gets the funktion of booting backups working and not the whole chip within every function as stated by Team Underdog.

So don't talk at cross purposes, i want to get this thing working like advertised and the tut shows how to get one of many functions working.

If i had known this issues i had not even ordered this chip cause i was searching for a perfect solution which the nme360 looked like. But it isn't.

Then return it to the retailer... and purchase a Xeno-360. It will function as advertised - you'll still have to get up and reboot the xbox... but at least you knew that going in.

Sounds like the simple solution, ive got a backup sorted for 2morro's test of my chip install touch some wood it might even work

question is mine is super fine with originals hasnt been a problem for over a week, borrowed a 48hr card to test online and its sweet

would there be a problem playing originals if the chip was faulty ?? as many have said in the past there could well be ??

1st i'll see if the chip works a NMe intended " message from my chip supplier they are removing the 470 coil but didnt say which option they were using"

thing underdogs backup for selling is absolute pants, im starting to wish id just flashed it and bought the new xecuter 360 blaster

Clone Cd did not work either. One quick question, some foums are very confusing regarding the booktype, the pioneer autosets to DVD-ROM??? When I burn my disk the booktype is displayed as DVD+R DL, is this correct? For sammys I read that this is the correct booktype so is the pioneer autosetting to DVD-ROM or not?

I spent a few hours over the weekend verifying everything again and I am considering flashing now, fed up with NME1.2.

Anybody have any last suggestions.
