Nme360 1.2 + Hitachi + Soldering Tips Please
« on: February 28, 2007, 12:52:00 PM »

I got My nme360. took apart my 360 with the Hitachi drive and just about s*** my pants. My god these solder points are f***ing INSANE. I have some skills, but I don't think I can do this.

Any tips and or tricks would greatly be appreciated. I am pretty much scared at this point to even attempt this.

Also what size solder tip should I be using and what temp should i be at. thank you

read the 2nd to last post there. i posted some tips/tricks for installing nmes.

For the 1.2 on Hitachi. What I would do (I haven't had to yet, but what I've thought about and most likely will do) is alternate the points.

I would solder points I B D F H to the silver pads that are so conviently placed there. It shouldn't be too hard to get those points to stick without shorting out

Points A C E G, I would do what I stated in that other link 4B under Hitachi and scrape the green resin/epoxy off the respective traces, and solder to the bare copper there.

Good luck.
