Question On Nme-360
« on: February 04, 2007, 10:31:00 PM »

I am having no luck backing up my 360 games and keep getting "Please insert this game into an XBox360" error when I backup game even the though the process apears to wrok correctly.  On the team NME-360official website it says that if you get this error it can because "the the security sector is not at the right location".  My question is how can you alter that?  I have e-mailed them a number of times and I get no response so I thought I would try here.  Any help is appreciated.

P.S. The other thing they suggest is that the layerbreak point is in the wrong spot but I have set it at 1913760 as per the tutorial.

The NME website also says you need to convert the XTreme image (that I suspect you are making) to NME format.  This is step 2 on their three step process.  Are you doing that?

If that is not the issue, perhaps you are using poor quality DVD+R media (not Verbatim) or your burner isn't in the correct bit setting (I have a Pioneer 111D so I haven't bothered to learn that portion of it as I don't need to).

Good luck!

Thanks rajax.  I am performing step 2 to convert to NME format using NME 360 aSSociat0r.  I am just using the "convert" tab as I think that is all I have to do.

I am also using Verbatim+R DL media and am using a Pioneer 111D burner but am still geting this error  sad.gif

Any help is appreciated, I have burnt so manu coasters it is really frustrating.

NME1.1 or NME1.2?

If NME1.1, then Pioneer 111d doesn't work.
If NME1.2, then something else.

ydgmms, isn't it only the NME 1.1 when used on a Hitachi that is a problem?  I thought if your 360 had the Samsung then the Pioneer drive would work. I have the Samsung drive so I thought I should be OK.

Perhaps I am mistaken?

Although their website is a little ambiguous, it appears that you have confirmed my question from my post:
http://forums.xbox-s...howtopic=584634

I came to the understanding that, although they didn't work it properly, the pioneer 111D requires the NME 1.2 and the 1.1 will not work.  The most recent comment on their site regarding was "now working with pioneer 111d and Pioneer based burners as well as all LG burners" and a previous statement made when they said "now working with pioneer 111d and hitachi drives flawlessly" I believe should be read as two separate points and not that the hitachi was the only drive that had issues with the pioneer 111D.

This is their explanation for the troubles:
In NME v1.1 we've had a small issue with games which have been burnt in a pioneer 111d writer. This was due to the fact that 111d is writing some sectors different from all other writers and so our media detection couldn't recognize the media as a valid backup when inserted in a hitachi drive. This issue has been solved 100% by our fantastic software engineer.

Given this explanation, I don't see how the samsung would be unable to have an issue with the burner.  I had a Pioneer 108A burner that I traded for the 111D because I thought it was better but I don't think that it would have worked anyways given the "now working with pioneer 111d and Pioneer based burners as well as all LG burners" comment.  So I'm just going to hold off and wait for a 1.2 to be available shortly

Hope this helps!

actyally Pioneer 111D works with NME 1.1, it's just you need a diferent type of converting the xtreme iso...
I have a 111D and i have made many sucessful backups, converting the xtreme iso this way.
Here is a little tutorial , i personally have tried it and it works 100%.

we need program called nme ss converter
find it here http://www.team-unde...nme_ss_conv.rar
Unpack it and name the directory nme...
Put the .ISO and SECURITY SECTOR in it...
So after this we need to rename the .ISO file into IMAGE.000 and the SECURITY SECTOR file into ss.bin...
When renaming the .ISO if asked to change it hit yes...
Hit CONVERT.BAT and it will start a DOS operation witch will convert the SECURITY SECTOR to be compatible with the NME and will create a two new GAME.ISO and GAME.DVD files into the same directory...
The GAME.ISO file must be exacly 7.705.657.344bytes to work (check with right click on the file and then properties)...
If you did all of this and thill now everything is just like writen you are ready to burn the GAME.DVD file...
Open CLONE CD, choose the GAME.DVD file and hit burn...
That's it...
Note if you have Ultra ISO installed it may cause some problems so uninstal it for that time...

Upsssss...
Sorry forgot to mention that you first need to use the Xbox360 SS Merger to extract the security sector from the iso...
Thats the only process in witch you use the merger....
