To confirm, it is 220 ohm smd. My package came with one, but I didn't need it.

Its a wee tiny little square black doo-dad that says 220 on it.  Foundmy sent one for me just fine ...

Radio shack doesn't have the SMD resistors I needed.  So I bought a regular 220 ohm resistor instead.  Well I should have guessed that it wouldn't work.  Is anyone willing to sell me thiers?  please contact me at [email protected].

A Froogle search turned up this http://www.goldmine-...sp?number=G239R

I've never heard of them, but might be helpful.

Thanks.  That looks like the right part but I would rather get one from someone who just had an extra part.  I don't want to risk damaging my xbox360.  I have the worst luck with it so far.  Someone at ebay ripped me off $60 on a flashable dvd drive.  I trashed one 360 dvd drive already (because of the black gunk).  Now I have this SMD problem.  What makes me mad is that Foundmy refuse to give me such a cheap part. They wouldn't even tell me where I could get one.  And of course Team underdog never responds to email.

I sorry if I starting to rant.  I modded lots of playstations, ps2, and xboxs.  I never had such a hard time with this.  Oh well.  Please give me an email if you have a samsung drive and want to sell the coil.

I'd probably be able to mail you mine in an envelope. PM me with address details if you're interested.

Hey guys I have a question.  I'm installing a chip for my friend who has a Hitachi drive.  www.gocybershop.ca doesn't give the SMD coil with it.  Here's the e-mail I got from them:

"Hi team underdog didn’t include the coils.   You can get one at any electronic store.  You need a  220uH smd coil"

Ok now they say its a 220uH, you guys are saying 220uΩ.  So is it a resistor or an inductor coil!?  On the team-underdog website it specially says "SMD part (coil)"... and the word coil would imply an inductor.  So where did you guys hear it was a resistor?

Thanks.

For some reason I can't edit my old post (time limit on editing?).  Anyway, here is exactly what you need:

220uH INDUCTOR

-uH means micro Henry
-SMD means surface mounted device, which is unnecessary since it's not being mounted on any surface
-coil is another name for inductor

Here is what it may look like:

I installed it and the mod works great.  Don't get confused with the people saying stuff about resistors.

You can found it anywhere...I took one off from an old TV and measure it.It was 194,kinda big but found place to install it outside the dvd rom  tongue.gif   Works Great

LOL... I don't think many people have old TVs lying around to use for spare parts.  Plus you would need a DMM that measures inductance.  An easier bet would be to go to an electronic component store and just buy one for $1.
