That chip has about three times as many wires as the NME-360 1.2.  If I were you, I would return it and get the NME-360 1.2.  Depending on your soldering skills you may be in for a big headache.  I thought soldering 9 wires to that little trace area was bad, you would be lucky if you could solder all those points successfully and the diagram shows that you have to cut a trace on the board?  What if the mod chip doesnt work and you need to pull it out and scrap the project? Now you have a broken trace.  Go for the NME, you might save yourself at least your 400 dollar xbox if something goes wrong.

That looks like the hardest modchip I've ever seen to install, and cutting traces is a very bad idea. 9 wires for the NME 360 was very difficult, that looks insane. Send it back, throw it away, do whatever but get the NME 360 V 1.2 and you won't be disappointed.

2nd hardest, but still definitely doable, its justy removing the epoxy thats the tricky part, try doing an undiluted platinum mod in a PSP, oh the horror! and i been SM soldering for 8 years!

The epoxy wasn't really that bad. If you have a surgical blade and a magnifying glass you can cut away enough to expose the connection points. Just don't accidentally rip out 4 traces trying to find tp405.

O lordy, you bought a chip for your psp?  All psp's can run iso's and homebrew with "simple" software run off the memstick.  There are even software hacks out for the newer ones with the screwy boards in them, a little more of a pita but alot less than opening the pretty shiny toy!

Yeah... those don't really help because he has a lg47dj.

John, take the lid off the bottom of the drive. You only need to take out the board if you have problems soldering or adjusting the laser. I would try and find someone with a lot of micro soldering experience if the task looks daunting.

If you still have problems, get the NME1.2 and send both the drive and the chip to me and a will solder it and test it, and send it back to you pop.gif

goodness man, if youre having this many problems this early in the install process...id suggest not doing it, not with this chip...it looks like complete hell to install.

the 1.2 is even a pretty difficult task, but definitely easier than this one.

I cant seem to find any info on this chip?
I figure its a cheap rip off of globe 360 considering it has the exact same solder points as globe.
Can anyone confirms this?
I also noticed the firmware chip on globe  is socketed this ALL 360 looks like its solder on, I mean how can you update the flash if it is not socketed?
